I use BCW Backing Boards for my postcards. I already had a bunch that I use to store fabric, so I just cut them to size. Also, Robin at RSIsland Crafts showed glassine clear envelopes, she can tell you more. I did end up making my own envelopes and people just loved them, sew much fun! Thank you for this.

Am watching a replay of your postcard video from a year ago. It was great - love how it turned out. My head is spinning with ideas! I have done a few small landscape quilts years ago, and it’s all flooding back to me with these postcards. I am wondering though, how thick is your finished card? I was googling usps sizes and they mentioned thickness is considered also.
@OffKilterCrafterIan9 ай бұрын
I’ve never had a problem with the post office saying my postcards were too thick. I would have to measure the thickness in centimeters or millimeters.

!8ball Could I use a large index card for this project? !8ball What is the seam allowance for the quilted post card. !8ball What size needle do you use when zig-zagging the edges of the post card. It looks like a fun project to do Ian. Thank you for showing how to make the quilted post card. GOOD JOB IAN!!! Thank you for your time and talent

Going in order: Yes, 1/4” for seams and whatever you want it to be for the edges of the post card, I was using an 80 sized needle. Thanks for watching!

Would it work if I overlock instead of zigzag?
@OffKilterCrafterIan2 жыл бұрын
I think so, you just might need to go around more than once. Do you want to make sure that you’re batting is contained nicely, so it doesn’t accidentally get pulled out during transit.
