I’m not big on the 46 either. Regular maker’s was my go to when I first started. I really remember liking the cask strength.

I have never bought a bottle of the regular Makers Mark, seems everyone (until you guys mentioned that you like it), says it's the only one they dont care for? I have the cask strength & just picked up a bottle of the (new) 46 today and I do like both of them very much, I might have to get a bottle now. seeing as how I do from time to time drink them with an ice cube, but mostly drink bourbon in an Old Fashioned or Manhattan, the regular might be the way to go on the weekdays and save the cask & 46 for the weekends. I also like Elijah Craig Small Batch, that and the regular Makers Mark are between $29 & $31. Good stuff guys thanks for the review. 🥃Cheers!

Great Review - I see why you can't take Bart anywhere, he'll say something "unusual". Love the wheated bourbons - Weller's was my go-to. What do you think of Col EH Taylor small batch 100 proof?

Bart "i dislike overly oaked whiskey" Me: looks at dusty bottle with only a neck pour out of it. Ummm Bart, i think you need to retry that regular 46. ill admit it comes off very spirity and wood forward but as it opens up you get butterscotch and vanilla creme'. please give it another try. Makers 46 Cask Strength is one of my top Bourbons.

Personally prefer the standard Makers over this , though is nice and pleasing overall. Pleasing whisky, aggressive shirt choice, absolute perfect , almost Poirot elegant moustache Bart. Resplendent really !! ( the moustache!!) , just ok for the whisky!! Cheers 🥃🥃🥃🥃😜

I keep Makers Mark for a mixer bourbon...people can tell it's a half-decent bourbon even when it's been desecrated with Coke LOL. I keep the good stuff hidden.

Very new to whisky. Current go to is JW Black Label. Initial impression of this is it kicks me in the throat. Not sure about this one.

I'm answering my own question here..just picked up a bottle of french oak and next to the cask strength it's not that good...Cask Strength just stands out and is more interesting and flavorful

Stunts with staves seldom seem to wow y'all. Of course, when it comes to Maker's Mark, any excuse for sipping some stuff of theirs will do, but the original is difficult to improve upon. (Indeed, *nothing" that is allegedly "new" and "improved" is likely to be either, but don't let's get started on a rant …)
