Nice review, curious what the bottle count will be this year and if it will be more readily available.

I had the same thought!

Haven't had an opportunity to try either release of cellar aged yet but the regular Maker's Mark cask strength is in my rotation of favorite sippers right now especially at its price point. Definitely interested to try this release since I imagine it's a better version of a bourbon I already like. My only concern is that it's several times more expensive, so is it really worth the cost difference?
@bradsbourbonreviewsАй бұрын
It absolutely is not worth it. This bottle should be MSRP around 100-120 bucks MAX.

Gotta love an honest review on a hyped bottle! Wouldn’t be mad to try a pour!

Exactly what I thought about 2023 release. Was hoping this one would be better.

‘23 MMCA was the best whisky I’ve ever had, liked it slightly more than a GTS and THH I’ve had

@calebbrown918 glad you liked it that much! For me last year and this years fell flat on its face

Great review. I have been hunting that one since the 2023 release. Probably still will try to get it. I am a pretty big Maker’s guy.

Nothing wrong with that! I hope you enjoy it more than I did!

That’s gotta be one of the worst feelings spending a fortune on a bottle only to have it suck!!

I’ll revisit it

I've heard that a lot of these recent allocated releases from multiple distilleries are starting to turn into a "try before you buy" type beat, like theyre still trying to ride the high of the bourbon boom but the products are just not hitting anymore.
@bradsbourbonreviewsАй бұрын
I agree with that at least on this release. But the weird thing this time it’s like it’s not the age. It’s just not a good final product. I think some whiskeys are better around 6 to 8 years. This is just a little too old and it doesn’t really add anything.
@Pro2ndAmndАй бұрын
I enjoyed their BRT-01 and 02 limited releases and was excited for this bottle. Alas, I’ve never seen a bottle in a store here in CO.
@bradsbourbonreviewsАй бұрын
I love BRT-01 and 02! BEP is probably my favorite of those
@Best_Served_Neat_On_IceАй бұрын
@@bradsbourbonreviews, BEP seems very divisive. I've seen reviews that place it toward the best of Wood Finishing LEs and also reviews that place it toward the worst. Looks like you have no BRT review.
@EddieHajnasrАй бұрын
I didn’t know that the 2024 version released. Never seen a bottle of the 2023 in my area, and I am sure this years Cellar Aged will be just as hard to find. I wouldn’t mind having a bottle in my collection, but the retail price is quite high for what you get. Reviews seem to be mixed, so maybe they are not worth hunting.
@bradsbourbonreviewsАй бұрын
In my opinion it’s a pass
@ncdorito213Ай бұрын
2023 MMCA was a good pour but agree that rhe finish falls off too quickly. Mouthfeel was great but too short of a finish that would clearly benefit if it lingered more. I still would grab a bottle but def would prefer 2023 at srp. Cheers
@bradsbourbonreviewsАй бұрын
Cheers brother! Agree with everything you said
@Best_Served_Neat_On_IceАй бұрын
Hey, man, got the jump on everyone else on KZbin with (it seems) the very first 2024 Cellar Aged review! I expect soon there'll be a barrage of reviews saying it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. I think some channels hype up undeserving bottles. Maybe to get views?
@bradsbourbonreviewsАй бұрын
Yeah, that was one of the reasons why I bought this bottle because I noticed that I would’ve been the first person with the review to be perfectly honest and I think that definitely happens. I think some review channels want favoritism with distilleries. I’m not interested in that I’m interested in giving my personal thoughts.
@thomasgallagher1945Ай бұрын
Early on when I started drinking whiskey, I tried Makers Mark. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed. Not horrible, just not a pour to get excited about. For awhile, I thought it was because its a wheated bourbon. Some time later, I tried other wheated bourbons ( that I enjoyed ) and discovered Makers Mark simply isn't for me. Just curious Brad --- how much did the bottle cost?
@bradsbourbonreviewsАй бұрын
350 (I really over paid) MSRP is supposed to be like 200-250 I did it to be the first review 🤣
@thomasgallagher1945Ай бұрын
So sorry to hear that I know that feeling all too well
@BrandelToroАй бұрын
It amazes me a brand like MM specializes in wheated bourbon but can’t come remotely close to the quality of Larceny BP. Larceny is just one of many on Heaven Hill’s catalog. Meanwhile Makers have to create a wood finishing gimmick to get something palatable. That being said, I would love to try this. 😉
@bradsbourbonreviewsАй бұрын
Larceny BP A123 is UNREAL good
@hoosier_justinАй бұрын
Really bumming that you didn’t enjoy it as much as you thought you were going to from the nose as you didn’t on the palette. That being said… I’d love to give it a try 👀😂 I never was a huge Makers fan until I went and saw how it’s made and how much the care about their whisky, even if it is just a “simple” bourbon. I don’t know, maybe I’m just dewy eyed from having a really awesome tour experience 😂

Yeah I'm not a fan of MM and I'm not sure if I'm a wheated bourbon fan.
@bradsbourbonreviewsАй бұрын
I wouldn’t judge wheated bourbon by makers mark. Have you tried any other wheated bourbons?
@SHHDADDYSWORKNАй бұрын
Def can understand that, and I've had a few different ones and in the few I got a couple of picks but I wish I would've tried before I bought but I don't think you can since I mainly shop on the base up in WA here. I wanna give the Ben holloday a shot and maybe a Weller product any one I can purchase that is.
