I don't think any of them saw it as abusive, it was their normal. This isn't as clear-cut as 'she is evil and they all did nothing'. This is about blurred lines between what is and what isn't acceptable forms of punishment, and everyone has different opinions on that. Unless he saw her tie up the kids and lock them away, he couldn't have known.

The father was living there when their oldest son had to sleep on a bean bag chair because they took his bed for 6 or 7 months. He was there when the 6 year old was responsible for making their lunch(all of the kids had to) and taking it to school. She was shown laughing about her young son almost crying on the phone because he forgot his lunch and again with the youngest child and her talking about the teacher asking her to bring a lunch. On that one she said I hope no one gives them food. Are you kidding? It is our job to feed, house and clothe our children. Food is a necessity not something you take from a child.

During the 911 call someone else played, in the background, I distinctively heard the boy say, "it was my fault". Alarm blasted through me, realizing this child had been groomed and desperately needs protecting, from falling into the wrong hands. She's also been said to shame men tons for desiring intimacy in their marriages. Also I know Jodi's children despise her and Jodi thinks that means she raised them right and their just bitter. These kids have been recorded in her videos saying they don’t have friends and they don’t do any activities. I went to the Mormon church for 6 months. I got out of there right away. I couldn't live by their rules and rituals. Absolutely nothing they practice is Biblical. It's a cult.

I live in Utah, not of the predominant religion. I am concerned that our corrupt attorney general, Sean Reyes might not prosecute this case as it should be. There's this tendency in Utah to handle cases internally within the church. Social Services failed these children all along. It has echoes of that case where the father blew up the house, killing both of the children. Social Services missed red flags in that tragic case.

I watched the clip of the episode of when the oldest son had to sleep on a bean bag for months and I saw the rage in her eyes. I got the weirdest sense from that glare. Pure evil. What those children went through has me sick to my stomach. And Kevin knows everything that went on. He had a hand in some of it. But if he didn't٫and I'm just saying٫ how do you stand by and let someone do something so horrific to your children٫ the most precious and beautiful gifts you are supposed to protect from harm?

Section 401 of the Utah Criminal Code states: "If a court imposes consecutive sentences, the aggregate maximum of all sentences imposed may not exceed 30 years imprisonment.” I was wrong too, but they’re probably going to get 25-30 years. What you said would make literally zero sense to make someone who’s MUCH worse in their charges serve the same amount as someone with only 1 felony…Glad that’s not actually the case.

I never knew who she was prior to this arrest. But having looked back at some of the clips that were on her channel it astonishes me that she had a large following. I’m a child of Mormon upbringing, my parents were nothing like Ruby, but so much of what she says triggers me. The religious shaming, controlling by fear of god. There is no real protection for kids in that environment. I remember having regular meetings with my bishop on my own and the questions almost felt groomy. Parents hand over parenting to men who have no real idea what’s going on in your life and that always felt off to me. As soon as I had a daughter, I jumped ship, there was no way I was going to allow a bunch of men who don’t know her telling her what to do. A lot of what Ruby says sounds like the regular Mormon rhetoric, makes me sick.

Religion was a great way to control people hundreds of years ago but these days people are turning away from it in droves. It's possible to be a decent human being without a church telling you what to do and think.

I think RF just wants to punish the child for escaping and causing her to be arrested -‘if I’m alone in prison so will you be…’ sort of idea It speaks volumes of her warped character
