I need to say thank you for this video. I've gotten into kind of a funk over the last week ecause I haven't been working. I have a small shop set up in my garage but didnt spend much time out there over the past few days. When you pointed to the camera and say "make something!" I felt like you pointed at me. Great video. It’s motivated me to try a segmented turning. Ive been turning for about a year and really enjoy it, but haven’t messed with turning the inside of wood like a bowl or a vase. Just between two centers. If you haven’t tried making pens yet they are super fun and will make great gifts when you can give people stuff again.

Damn thank you for this video! Your stuff is awesome, and somehow makes projects more achievable. I just have band saw, miter saw, sander and drill and feel like I can make many of your projects. So many people over complicate projects like this! Would love to see more of the small band saw projects!

Great video and nice project David. Adding it to my list of things to make. I love segmented stuff. I have done some and made a Wedge sled to cut the segments. It is nice because you use the same sled whether you want 8 segments on this layer and 16 on the next. Keep up the great work. Camera Dan will be back in no time.

I use a hand drill and belt sander to turn some wooden handles for my branding irons I make. Your right, There is always more than one way to do something. 👍

On the non lathe version you can use a router with a pattern bit (ball bearing near the shaft) of even if you don't have that use the bushing guide and templates for interior and exterior and then sand it - it is much faster then sanding it all the way

Noice! Cutting the same types of angles on longer boards allows you to make "stave-built" drums in a pretty similar fashion. That's a project I've been contemplating for a number of years. Got nothing but free time now. Guess I should give it a try. I miss Camera Dan too, but I think you did okay. It's like going back to your roots. It's weird.
