This is awesome, I never would have thought to use eyeshadow with my foundation. Could you do a class on picking a lip color? I struggle so much with that.
@petronelawilson828 Жыл бұрын
I've noticed my lipstick colors change to the lighting that I'm in. Wear the lipstick you think you like or is complimentaryy both indoors in different lighting and then outdoors both in sun and clouds. I can't believe the difference the environment makes in the way the makeup and lipstick look. I hope that helps! I am light skinned with warm undertones with brown hair and blue eyes, and the neutrals look best on me, (my opinion) with either pink or brown or a little red in the fall.
@maemae4909 Жыл бұрын
What is so difficult with choosing a lip color? I am not trying to be disrespectful but am genuinely just curious.
@petronelawilson828 Жыл бұрын
@maemae4909 Well, you want a lip color that matches or compliments your skin and hair and makeup also. My skin gets darker thru the year, so I adjust. I have big laugh lines around my mouth, and the darker redder lipsticks can draw attention to them. I'm older, so my eyes are the focal point of my face with softer color on my lips and have brighter or bolder eyeshadow to open up my small eyes. If I go bold on lips and eyes, I look more like a clown. In the spring, when my skin is lightest and the dark circles under my eyes are really evident, I choose brighter eye shadow and pinker nude lipsticks. In the summer I wear more peach or pink brown colors and darker eye shadows and then in the fall I wear the brown with little but of red colors because the tan on my face covers my laugh lines better and it matches the season. You're looking for balance and colors that flow naturally together. I am neutral in the first part of the year and warm toned in the latter part of the year, that's why I adjust. Pinks and nudes at first and more browns and reds later in the year. Eyeshadow is more forgiving but lipstick is really the icing on the cake with makeup! I hope that helps.

Fingers are always useful with any liquid or cream product, even if you just use it to spread evenly and melt into the skin, then going back over it with a brush or sponge to buff or push it into the skin better. You also keep the coverage this way, don’t lose a good deal of product into your tool (sponge absorption or brush bristles.) This video is priceless for anyone at any level of experience, imo. She is such a great person to explain and show how to best work with makeup and even work skincare into your makeup routine.

This is the most helpful foundation lesson I've seen by far! This wasn't mentioned but you can also fix having used the wrong foundation finish by using a little powder to tone down the dewiness or using a dewy finishing spray to offset a look that's too dry. As far as a dewy foundation being best for dry skin, the exception is if you have a lot of texture (scarring and raised imperfections) because the reflection accentuates that.

Medium warm/olive here and I can't wait to dig into my green shadows to personalise my foundations! Also, I'm mature with dry skin. I find a satin finish much more fluttering to wear as anything glowy actually accentuates my crinkles, which is never a good look. I rely on my skincare to provide the hydration that will (hopefully) have my foundation look flawless. As well as everything else, you're an amazing teacher. Please, keep these coming, I'm learning so much. Which proves the point of "you're never too old to learn"! 😊👍👍👍💗💗💗💗💗

Thank you for pointing out the difference between warm and an olive undertone. I always hear other beauty channels mention their olive and apply a warm toned foundation or say they are olive and really are not and just warm. My grandmother was Italian and had light olive skin in the cooler months and her skin got to a medium deep in the summer and her skin would almost look dirty in a way because the green undertone intensified so much. When she was paler she could look sickly at times but I am light skinned and have a neutral leaning olive skin tone and have a hard time finding matches that have a good balance of that. I find the Fenty hydrating foundation in 150 tends to lean a bit mire neutral olive and it’s my perfect match.
