Lisa Eldridge put out five new eyeshadow palettes for holiday. I bought two. I now have all five. Today we're playing in Myth and Vega, but Vega is where I end up spending most of my time. And the results blew my mind - I had no idea I could wear gray, silver, pewter. But if anyone can convince me...it's Lisa.

Lisa Eldridge described nocturnarama as a blackened violet, so it’s nice to hear that you perceived it as black. Sometimes blackened shades are so nuanced, at the end of the day once they’re on the eyes, they look black. It’s just too high of a contrast to be perceived as anything else. I hope we will be able to customize completely in the future. Then I will surely bite! ❤

The colors are magnetic and slip in easily and secure. But ya have to buy the first set and then order single refills. I think she’s first showing her art. I picked Myth and adore it. Nobody can pick a color palette of 6 colors better than Lisa! Mine is perfect. They all are. 65$ for 6 plus the case. Btw, I haven’t bought blush in years because I take a tiny drop of her highlighter mixed with a lipstick of my choice smeared together. Heaven. My lipstick is also Lisa bit hey I’ve been working on her collection for years. I noticed this reviewer isn’t into purple and I certainly don’t have any clothes in purple but! Lisa’s purple is magical on eyes. Think blue eyes, eyes eyes, hazel eyes and mine are brown and purple brings out the eye color. No one would say you even had purple on. This lovely reviewer has her own “comfort zone”. Trust Lisa, she’s the artist for celebrities worldwide. Just sayin’. My makeup really came alive because of her.

I find it so funny how I see a completely different color than the color you used to describe the deep teal in Vega and the black in Myth. I see the one in Vega as a deep grey blue and the one in Myth as a deep eggplant. I really like this look on you!

Vega and Myth are my wheelhouse. They both contain shades that remind me of an Estée Lauder quad and duo I used religiously 20 years ago. They were my go to for work/12 hour shifts when I first started my job. French Gray sold out as a single for a reason. It’s a good color. Smoke & Mirrors is a great cool toned slate gray. It’s going to pull more blue on some skin tones and grayer on others.

Absolutely love these colours on you. I know what you mean about it feeling like classic makeup your mum had. I remember my mum’s treasure trove of Estée Lauder palettes in these kinds of colours that I was only allowed to look at but not touch. They were so special.

Damn! That's a gorgeous look on you! The colours are gorgeous. I sprung for Myth, and it is wonderful. The mulberry "velvet trim" shade was the standout surprise and my favourite! You're right, she made these vivid shades wearable and not at all intimidating, very easy to blend and they settle into the skin wonderfully. I will buy Vega when I've used up my current brown and grey and taupe! As it's full of my fave colours!

Skin twin here! Absolutely agree that there's something "vintage" about this color palette--it looks like every eyeshadow quad my mother owned from the mid 80s through the late 90s. Beautiful video both in editing, music, speed-ups etc PLUS creating the look. I think you are cracking the code for yourself, which on this side of the screen is ~ definitely cool colors on the eyeshadow, not warm: the cool makes your look pop. The shape is nailed, no need to tweak. Add to the sophisticate cheek look you created the other day ~ again ~ avoiding too many warm tones. On this one I may have done a little bit more muted lip to let the eyes really be the stand-out in the look, but the color you selected is beautiful, it just kinda competes with the eye look a little bit. I'm really impressed with how you are evolving, so many beauty=tubers are still using the same things years later. It is kinda counter-intuitive, I know, to think cool colors will look bad on warm toned skin but actually the cool tones on eyes and blush make your eyes and great bone structure stand out. IMO. This is just my opinion so definitely do stick with what you love to wear, I'm just commenting on what translates as most flattering on you from this side of the screen from my particular monitor! Good work.

Oh I LOVE how this looks on you. I was really looking forward to your review of the Vega pallette! I bought that one myself and I'm thinking of replacing the French Grey color by another shimmer. Faded Amethyst or Mage (from Sorcery) seem like great candidates, so I'm very happy you used Faded Amethyst in your look today. It adds exactly what I hoped it would add to the look.

Vega reminds me of an Estée Lauder quad I used to death 20 years ago. I would do the cool toned slate gray all over the lid, browns or caramels in the crease, and use the black as an eyeliner. Sometimes I would use the shimmer shade, others I wouldn’t. One color that will look amazing with Smoke & Mirrors is Sienna from Cinnabar. A caramel color really makes the gray pop. French Gray will be beautiful with it, as will the cooler toned brown in Vega.

I only got to order the Vega palette and I looove it 😁 I am curious if you’d be open to do a video about color analysis. I’ve been seeing a lot of videos on this lately and agree with most of it, but disagree with other parts. Gorgeous look. One of my faves on you yet, Kackie, but then cool neutrals are my jam. Ordered Vega after seeing Cheri Voyage use it to great effect, and Myth because it looks just too delicious. I’m trepidatious to use the Victorian Trim plum shade in Myth - it’s my “black is scary”. Now I’m pumped to try it, tho. To new makeup frontiers! Both Lisa and Kackie have artistic, intellectual, and historically contextualized approaches to makeup. I have a lot of respect for them both. Lisa’s videos on the history of makeup are zfascinating. I think the shade you used from the Myth palette really set the tone (excuse the pun) for this look, when you applied it on your lower lower lid - it was the FIRST shade you used. I bought Vega and Myth as well as all the "matte" singles I could grab and a couple of shimmer singles. My aim is to de-pot the shadows in the palettes and, with all the singles, put them into a large magnetic palette. Of course, I shall keep the (now) empty 6 pan palettes - Aarranging my very own, unique palette, for travel etc, is going to be fantastic fun 😀 Awesome vid 👌

I watched with great interest to see how you would put this together as I bought the Myth palette and even that scared me, with my brown eyes, and skin lookin like a ghost Simpson. My mistake was feeling I had to live in dead-mauve town with the rest of my products. I'm keen to go play again, maybe pick up Vega, most definitely pick up that Dior blush.. :)

Even though Kackie & I don't have much overlap on skin tone, texture, color preferences, etc (other than having deepset eyes & pref warm shades), just listening along seems to improve my makeup. Taking inspiration from the vid, I used the cool grey & burgundy side of a The Balm palette, which was verrrry different from the sublime looking Lisa Eldridge, but my look turned out surprisingly great too! I think it's all the color theory talk & the chill pace, I slow down, which makes my technique better, and I actually think through the theory stuff. My goal has always been to use light & shadow more effectively, and this is the perfect place to learn while still having fun and playing !
