Let's Talk About the Ensley Reign Drama

I wanted to initiate a conversation about the issues surrounding the indie makeup brand, Ensley Reign and the surrounding issues. I am using the Light in Your Eyes palette, but I spent $100 dollars on ER products during Christmastime, so I needed to use it. More information has come to my attention since I filmed this, so this is not a comprehensive list of all my thoughts. However, it's a start. I want to know what you all think. I just ask that if you're going to watch part of this, please watch all the way to the end. I am processing, just like you, and I made discoveries as I filmed this. Let's all just be kind and work together to get thru all this.

Im a minority and i find alot out there that say derogatory things about my people. I also know how dark many corporate brands are. My point of view is that sports should be sports, makeup should be makeup. Toothpaste should be toothpaste etc... and what i mean by that is that mixing our values and consumerism sounds like a good idea but when it comes down to it it creates alot of hate in the name of love. A lot of othering in the name of inclusion and doesnt truly make our society a better, kinder, or warmer place but just the opposite. You see it here too. Now if an influencer doesnt choose to speak on this or takes their time to determine how to respond, they are bombarded by people telling them how terrible they are and threatening to cancel them too. Something just stinks about all this.

I am astounded that the people behind brands don't avoid using their brand page to interact with anything other than business related content. That was a mistake on their part. I think they have a right to interact with who or whatever they want to online, but also consumers have the reactionary right to stop spending their money with them, and unfortunately in late-stage capitalism our dollars are really one of our most powerful votes on what we want to see more of. I agree with you about warring against ourselves - nothing will change before ourselves. Glad for you being a real one on here and putting your opinion out there.

Dude, I was scared as fuck. I'm still scared. But I can't just bury my head in the sand and act like nothing.And I can't just follow along when my bones are telling me to question everything. I, too, am astounded. That may be the understatement of the century. I'm fucking pissed is what I am. The thing that sucks the most for me is that people are like, "I'm not supporting the brand and I'm not gonna follow any creators that do." I support that. I also just see more and more isolation. I don't need support in the form of people subbing on my channel or viewing. I believe my people and I will come together on here. Honestly, I just see things getting worse and worse and there's nothing I can do about it. I just need to focus on the action and leave the outcome in my higher power's hands. As someone within the LGBTQIA+ community, I'm shocked and bummed out. I was late to using them, and now feel sad about even looking at my palette. There is no room for hate in my space. I am choosing not to purchase from them in the future. I hope there will be change as they're requesting to learn, but for now I'll just be watching I suppose. Also, I'm the same way in minding my own life and working on myself first.

I’m still going to buy more Ensley reign. I’m not sure of the specifics on what she did or didn’t like. If she’s against grooming young children.., I’m down with that too! I hate when folks push their trans agenda. I follow Blair White, and I agree with her on everything she says. We need to stop pushing sexuality in anyway on the youth. I think going against parents, and doing any hormone therapy on “trans” youth is awful! When these kids are 18, they can do it if they are still feeling they are trapped in the wrong body. I looked into that org and it's run by a gay woman who is against maps trying to make themselves a legit sexuality and calls out bad actors who infiltrate the community, people like JC. They even have a book about a boy who likes to wear makeup and it teaches kids inclusivity. These same accounts were having a meltdown because she liked an RFK Post. I love Blair White

I’m a 52 year old straight white woman and I can’t claim to be an ally if I support Ensley Reign right now. I’m so disappointed! My Uncle Frankie and his partner Uncle Darryl died from AIDS when I was 10 years old. In the 80’s. That changed my life forever and I want to be ally. Also, using AI instead of an artist gives me a bad feeling. Ensley Reign can afford to pay for some art work. If the brand changes their ways I will reconsider. Cancel culture isn’t my thing so, I want to show grace and give them time to change and grow. I’m really hoping they meant what they said in their statement.

you say that but how many "pro-artists" brands are actually commissioning artists? bellabeautebar, cosmic brushes, blend bunny, it's clear that they are using free/stock assets for the MAJORITY of their releases. Adept, kryptein, etc. don't even HAVE artwork on their palettes, although I enjoy their packaging style and aesthetic so i don't mind. to be fair you can totally pay for an asset but it's a completely different ballpark and the result is completely different. but maybe im biased because i cant stand the graphic design of bellabeautebar, blend bunny, and cosmic beauty. i will just go on a low buy atp and shift my focus towards singles😊

Unearthly is the brand I was referring to when I said I would go to battle for them. The two brands I actually was referring to were Unearthly and Notoriously Morbid. Both of those brands pay artists to design their covers-by hand. Coincidentally. I feel like NM is more lowkey, not as well known. I think the point being made here is that there are several brands, dare I say, even most brands that don’t. It seems like those two are exceptions, not the usual.

I will say this as only having worked with two transwomen at different points of my life and the antagonism that they faced in the workplace was real. It was a lot of normalized bigoted behavior like being grossed out that one of them was still preop or purposely misgendering. When I found out that one of the women was attacked by her brother and hospitalized in a conversation with a different coworker, another coworker mentioned that she had a bad boob job. I have a lot of patience and I try to not be patronizing and explain how they are only 1 % of the population and suffer so much to just exist. I don't abandon people when they don't understand something. Seeing these types of situations don't make me mad, they make me sad. Even recently there was a school shooting and someone mentioned that the shooter looked trans. I showed proof that they weren't but it is what it. These types of jokes are normalized and hurt real people. I will say that Ensley Reign is pumping out palettes too fast. I think that is why they are using ai in them. I hate how every company out there is pushing ai on everyone. I use browser extensions to try and block it. You still look great in this.

Yeah, I guess it doesn’t seem real to me that people could actually still be afraid for their child to be gay. I hate that people can’t just mind their own fucking business and let people live and look the way they want. I guess I think of the people currently who think there is an “agenda” and that kids could be influenced because it’s trendy. I know this, that is a fear of their own failings as a parent. When kids don’t get what they need, they search for it anywhere. My greatest fear is that my failing as a parent will cause my daughter to turn to drugs to fill that hole… parenting has been my greatest shame trigger. I can’t be alone in that. Everyone has the right to set their own boundaries, and that deserves respect. For me, while I can appreciate the brand’s color stories, I’ve never bought from them. By the time their products reach Europe, the cost simply outweighs the value FOR ME. I don’t have an emotional connection to the brand, so it’s been easier to stay detached. What I take issue with is the pressure to cancel others for making different choices. Just as you’re entitled to set your own limits, others have the right to process things and move past the brand’s actions (and what those actions say about the brand's beliefs but also their own). Whether or not we agree, tolerance means accepting that others may weigh the situation differently and still come to their own valid conclusions. I agree with you.... Thas has blown out of proportion like crazy. I think that, besides the displaced anger you point out, there was also resentment against this brand. First because of the ai artwork, second because of the price point. A lot of people coveting these palettes but not being able to afford them. So at the first tiny thing the owner has done (which was very stupid and unprofessional from her, lets be honest), about a subject that is at the forefront right now, people have jumped to the jugular, influencers have been cancelling the brand just to cover themselves, and very few people have taken the time to search for the post she liked to see if it's offensive or really to inform themselves.... Some of my most favorite palettes are by Ensley Reign - Cold Moon, Harvest Moon, Underland...I will NEVER get rid of those. They are Cruelty-free and that's the only issue that sways my makeup purchases.

And let's be honest Ensley Reign's formula is top tier. It irritates me when people complain about the pricing..but don't take into consideration the size of the palettes and how many special shimmers you are getting. And now they have palettes that are smaller and more affordable for some. I can name quite a few brands that have pricing on par to ER but they don't get dragged for pricing. ETA: I would like for you to still review their palettes. Someone has to do the dirty work 😆

Love and respect YOUR stand and view about the Easley Reign drama. Very intelligent said. If I were you, I wouldn't cancel anyone either based on a brand executing it legal right of sharing the same opinions or views with other brands, person, group or organization, regardless of the issue. In this specific case, I don't see the relevance between the drama, the quality of their products, and beating on or cancelling Easley Reign. I love all my gay friends as much as I love my lesbian daughter BUT, like I always discuss with her when I hear all these types of drama. I think that this new generation of the LGBTQIA are too damn sensitive and disrespectful! They get hurt and offended out of the air. It seems like some of my favorite brands have drama. I have several family members who are gay, including my son. I've never given anyone else's sexuality much thought. People are who they are. I agree with your thoughts on ER. I didnt order this palette because it wasnt my vibe. However, i do want the cold wolf palettes or maybe just one.i didn't order that yet because im trying to save $$$ for a couple weeks, not because of the info drama that came about. I must admit that the whole drama thing pissed me off on both sides. I dont vibe with a canceled community. I'm not sure how it was found, but if a person goes out looking for anything negative on a brand or person probably will find something good and bad. The old saying is be careful what you look for, youre probably gonna find it. I feel any brand should really think about their influence and behavior. Different people are effected and offended by lots of stuff. What offends you may not offend me. We are all free thinking humans. I dont support Hate or bullying from both sides. Instagram tells people who follow you when you like a post or comment. I've had the app do this for no reason. Or, when you see a post, it shows you people you follow who liked it. That app is very invasive. But I'm sure some snooping happened. People were suspicious of the brand for ages, something to do with prices being numbers related to Nazi things (don't ask me). And the AI stuff. I own one palette so far, and I love it. So I haven't decided what I will do. But I hate the "get the torches out" mentality. For now, I'm not buying. I love your approach to this. You've touched on so many essential points to conclude. You're entirely right about the saving complex being an ego. As an empath, it's bittersweet having to understand everything and everyone all the time. Lately, I've been allowing myself to focus on myself. I haven’t followed ER super closely. This is my first time hearing this drama. But you made lots of good points I can agree with here. Yes, people are overly sensitive, even when the issue doesn’t affect them. Also, keyboard warriors wielding pitchforks and crucifying just for the sake of crucifying is rampant. There’s alot of hate and superiority complex in the world today and social media seems to have turned into a nasty snowball thats going downhill and just getting bigger and nastier as it goes down the hill, only to crash and burn at the bottom. There’s also alot of fear right now. I think sometimes people attack with hate to hide their fear, and I fully agree that they should examine and self reflect on their own personal situations before they judge and pitchfork others. I hope to see clearer and more respectful conversations in 2025 because this year was fucking rough. I agree that hate versus hate results in no winners. I really do hope we can shed some of the hate and negativity for the new year. I also agree that people jump on these bandwagons without really comprehending the full story. Oof, this is a tough one. I just got my first ER palette in the Eyescream beauty box and it is such a great formula, even though one of my shimmers was exploded. I can’t support brands that do things like that. It shows the true character of who they are and that shit needs to stop. But, I don’t know the specifics either. So I can’t make that end all determination and this is the first I have heard about this drama with this brand. I do have to say this is probably the 4th or 5th issue I have heard about them which really turns me off. They just seem to be troublesome for some reason, which is good for my bank account I guess.

I don’t think that these issues are all black and white. Yes people should have a safe space to be who they are. But it does seem like we (as a society) are pushing kids into sexuality way too early. Some people don’t know what they really want or who they are until well in to their 20s or 30s. It’s like we were too anti-sexuality in our culture for so long, not talking about it as if it were shameful that now we have gone in the opposite direction of pressuring kids to pick “a side” when they’re in elementary school. I just feel we need more of a balance. Have a safe space for them to grow into themselves, but also don’t push them into it before they might be ready. As for ER, the owners are entitled to their opinions. I feel like if we really got to know each and every brand owner there would always be something that we don’t agree with. Should they engage with something that is perhaps controversial as a brand? Maybe not a great idea, but if they were positively engaging with “our side” of an issue we would not vilify them… I don’t personally subscribe to cancel culture because I see it as censorship and I think free speech is important.

When you deal with the hate or biases, indoctrinated ideas, from family; sometimes I can't be over sensitive to other issues. I always have open discussions with my son and ask hims opinions and talk about issues. Just found your channel, been enjoying your content. I like seeing someone with more mature skin (just older than 22 year olds, which seem to be the majority of people posting similar vids) doing these amazing looks, so badass. I was eyeing an Ensley Reign palette for WEEKS before this and I ultimately have decided against buying it simply because there are plenty of other very badass brands with equally punchy multichromes and color stories that don't have any questionable drama or issues and it's just easier to go with them. Also, I very much vote with my dollars and I just simply will not support anyone with my dollars whose views are the antithesis of mine. Simple as that for me. Was going to get Realm of Fairies by BBB but I waited too long. If it restocks, I'll be getting that instead of the Cold Moon by Ensley Reign. Side note: If you add 'reddit' to any Google search you do, you will 100% get a better answer to your question than if you just use Google. It is CRAZY the shit I have found for weird, niche computer issues, I will find an archived thread from 4 years ago with the same question and many comments that often have a solution. Top tier.

I saw your video when it came out, and i have been doing some thinking before commenting. I have not bought from ER because of shipping to the UK being expensive. I would like to say that you were very insightful and just - you took the stance of making your viewers reflect not only on this matter but at the wider scale. I found interesting the bridge you made with JS and i think people associate the brand with the person since it is his name, face in the marketing and himself uses the brand as an extension of his persona online. With ER and other brands they are more of an entity and not the face of the owner (i suspect many people like myself dont even know who the owner is). That being said, i totally agree with your points. I do think nowadays brands and even influencers are constantly pandering and at a certain point it is not sustainable. Having a brans mission or values and than sticking to it should be something owners should think about and just be true to whatever their vision is. It might be what some people dont like but at least they align themselves to their target audience. I dont see myself or my values with what came out from ER but i was not a costumers. The brand definitely has to understand they will loose the costumers that dont see themselves in what came out (being AI, being LGBTQIA+ or political views). I think it was dumb to use the brands account but something similar happened with the ceo of ofra a few years back. And people swore them off and didnt allow for change or kept saying "not enough". The crux at times is the "not enough" attitude. If we ask for change/statements/clear position of subjects than we have to be prepared to listen and accept it. And i think that your video stands out from others, and you rightly mention this in a way. We can't ask and ask without being willing to be receptive. And there is a very palpable shift in energy starting to happening that can go either way, for sure! I really enjoy your channel, your creativity and insightfulness.

I really, really like your take on this, so eloquently put and I fully agree. Yelling and canceling has never worked and will never work, trying to change someone's opinion by yelling will only make them completely disregard you and rally their supporters/people with similar opinions, same goes for trying to cancel someone. We have already had countless examples of how cancel culture does not work. Personally I have never bought Ensley Reign and now I won't do it in the future either as things like this soil the fun and make me feel uninspired by makeup. Same happened with J* for me, I was a big fan of his makeup but haven't bought or used any in years because I would feel gross using it. I wonder if anybody just tryed understanding the algorithms how the image generation models are trained, asking questions to developers, instead of reading perhaps some articles written by journalists and spreading misinfirmation that "AI steals from real artists". Sorry it does not. The same as a human artists studies other pictures while learning how to draw pictures, and then creates something new, AI models also just study other pictures and then create a new picture. If it "steals", then human artists steal too. I see all this "moral panic" (a social psychology term, can be googled) about "AI stealing" just as a counter protest of people who oppose letting a new invention enter their lives and change them. Like luddites in 19th century. Such fear can be understood, but the technical progress and the delight of new great inventions cannot be stopped.

Go ahead and review ensley reign. I won't buy their stuff anyways. The price is ridiculous, the shipping cost, and the AI art usage. Any product slapped with AI art is automatic no for me. My relative's art was stolen and ai editted by a seller on etsy. That was a 3 year battle and my relative was tired of it. Ensley Reign can say whatever the eff she wants. Her fans can defend her.....but her top tier palettes and color pay off will not make me buy them. I will still use her as an example to educate my students on how not to run a business.

I was thinking more about an instance where a brand owner was posting stuff on Instagram after the October 7, 2023 massacre in Israel that's at the very least insensitive to Jews. I didn't see any KZbinrs calling this brand out for their "marginalization" of Jews. But, I suppose I didn't expect them to because they don't claim to be Jewish. Perhaps they care about LGBT stuff because they are part of that community, but does that truly make you "inclusive?"

I have only listened to half of your video, but here is my take on it. People hold whatever beliefs they hold - no matter how misguided or even hateful. Our job is to live our lives according to our values. So if someone or a brand isn’t living by values that are consistent with ours we can choose whether or not to support them financially or in any other way. Conversations and education are important, but my experience with people who hold hateful views is that, for the most part, no amount of talking changes them. As you said, “The only person one can change is themselves.” It saddens me that Ensley Reign liked transphobic creators and/or their posts, but we do live in a world where 50% of the population clearly holds views diametrically opposed to my own, so I am not shocked that there are those in the beauty community who do as well. The one point of yours with which I disagree is that not only women react from emotional places and sometimes irrationally. I know plenty of men who do the same. We just interpret their rage differently than women’s . . . And that is a serious problem.

It’s definitely pretty low on the priority list for me. People are fucking dying out here and people can’t share some of their drawings. People with an infinite amount of drawings at their disposal. Unlimited ability to create art. I like sharing, so… I actually quite enjoy sharing limited resources. I don’t give two fks about sharing my creative thoughts and ideas. I want people to have them. But, that’s just me. And I don’t want to offend anyone on this. I completely see people’s perspective. In fact, I think they are right. Perhaps if people weren’t living in such a scarcity mentality and focused so hard on people taking from them, their art would be flowing so abundantly there’d be no stopping them. I know a lot of artists, painters, potters, musicians… and they just want their art out there.

My opinion, not that it matters in the grand scheme of things, is that she (the ER owner) might not understand HOW she was being transphobic. I think that we can all agree that child grooming=BAD. This idea that the LGBTQ+ community is linked to child grooming is an idea that has been ingrained into society by the homophobes. It's false and it's dangerous. When I was young it was "tHe GaYs" who we had to watch out for. Since there has been alot of discourse around trans people in popular culture, now that false idea is being pushed onto a different part of the LGBTQ+ community. The only way to break the stigma is education. You're right, you can't fix hate with more hatred. I think I'm really disappointed in the ER owner, and I wish that she would take the time to educate herself. Not only on this topic, but the use of AI. I heard that she was going to stop using AI art. And if that is something that she said then it's kind of scummy to not keep her word. I don't know where I stand with this brand. I really enjoy their palettes.

I was contemplating on commenting bc I was attacked when I expressed my opinion on bigger platforms so I came to the conclusion that the majority of the "beauty community" has become a far-left echo chamber (not to even mention reddit where people are trashtalking on Ensley Reign in the form of a private club where you can not comment if you have a different view🙄) but I'm gonna comment anyways - first of all, I really appreciate that you graciously approach people with different views, and I wish everyone could act similarily in controversial situations like this and avoid the pitchfork attacks. Though I agree with you on several issues, I also want to say that majority of the world holds conservative values opposed to these progressive views that the minority wants to push on us, just because they think that we are bigoted and we should change. We get these labels out of hate all the time and then they parrot slogans like "stop the hate". I can see your point of view. For me, it such a boner killer that no matter where you look, left or right, people are all up in arms about all this bullshit. It’s not actually bullshit though. It’s peoples lives, rights, values, and beliefs. I know there’s a trans agenda. But I’m of the belief that it’s not what people think it is. I think the trans agenda is really just to create a space for trans people where they are accepted and treated as equals. I’m no expert on the topic, but I think it’s possible that the reason why the trans population has grown so much is not because there are more trans people, but because they can actually tell the truth about it without being shunned, exiled, ridiculed, and sometimes even killed. Historically, members of the LGBTQIA community have had no rights, no respect, and there has been a real life threat to their safety. And that is not an opinion. We all know that. So when I say that it takes time to change viewpoints, I’m merely referring to that fact that I don’t believe that many people understand the gravity of the situation because it’s not a part of their experience. I believe that it takes empathy on both sides. Not wanting to hear about it isn’t empathy. Dude, I get it. I hate having to think about other people’s shit all the time. Thank you for your reply and being so understanding! As you've said it, some people want division in our societies and want us to always have something to "chew on" while distracting attention from much bigger problems in the world. I understand that for some people this might be the most important issue in their life, but I believe this whole problem is caused by social media. And now bc of this division a lot of people think of themselves as invaluable humans, or that "others" invalidate their feelings, although its not true. I don't think conservatives want any harm to them, its quite the opposite, we just want them to avoid doing irreversible damage to their bodies. If I may add (as a medical professional) I firmly believe that the western societies are purposely mishandling the mental health problem of these individuals, and they just straight up deny the psychiatric treatment for them and immediately push them to the so called affirming care (look at the testimonies of detransitioners, very sad to see). Although it might seem that they are getting more empathy, the truth is that some people are making a lot of money off of their surgeries which they refuse to admit... to me that is not caring, these people only care about their pockets. Imagine if these children and adults could just get the mental health care they actually need saving themselves from mutilation and having even more mental health problems. I know what I just wrote down is considered "transphobic" nowadays...but you see, to me this is the result of the trans agenda. While I stand by that these people shouldn't be handled as they are in the middle-east, unfortunately we fell over to the other side of the horse, and now you can't express any criticism of these ideologies without getting labelled. I really wish that we could have an honest and open conversation about that but most of the people in that community just don't want to hear about that. I was a hairstylist and an MUA. It is hard work. My heart wasn’t in it, which made it really difficult for me. Yeah, the groovy garden was neutral-ish. Ya know, I learned that lesson the hard way. I had a good, good friend. He relapsed and was so insane and hazardous when he was high, people were constantly calling me to come and deal with him. He was actually getting dangerous. The last time I saw him I treated him like an asshole. And a few weeks later they found him dead in a van. He died alone of an overdose. And all I could think was, “I wish I would have treated him like someone who was dying instead of like a fkn asshole…”

It's easy to be wishy washy and Switzerland.Especially now in this noninclusive political climate. I don't even like confrontation, I prefer peace in my life. Ensley Reign was my favorite indie brand. I brought all of their palettes. But I won't buy from a brand that is racist, transphobic, xenophobic or homophobic. If you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything!

I’m said those exact words in one of these comments… somewhere in this thread. It’s actually not easy to be wishy washy. Everyone expects you do something and if you don’t do what they want, you are exiled. It’s no way to solve problems. Last week I watched vigilantly while over a million people in this country put all their shit in their back pockets and band together to fight to keep tik tok. It was the most inspirational thing I’ve actually ever seen in my lifetime. It made me actually want to be a part of it and this country. I’ve never felt like that before. I want to participate in that. I do stand for something.

I think everything you say in this video is awesome except for the fact about losing credibility on people who are emotional. I had stage three cancer during everything that was going on and everyone knew it. I just did invoice that because I didn’t want it used against me and yeah, I was emotional because I was heavily medicated.

I actually said in the video that I wasn't saying that people's emotions weren't valid or justified. I merely stated that when people are emotional, that isn't a place where I want to get the facts on a decision I need to make that could jeopardize lives. I didn't say they lose "validity." I said they lose credibility with ME. Meaning, when someone is overly emotional, the information they are purveying to me, I take it with a grain of salt.

THANK YOU for sharing your thoughts!! Right now, I’m really bummed. I literally just purchased from ER and now I feel like I won’t be as excited when my palettes arrive. Transphobia and anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric is not something I can just push aside. I strongly believe that, as a brand, ER should keep their private beliefs just that-private. Also, we seem to have a lot of the same viewpoints, so everything you said makes a lot of sense. I appreciate having someone logical and composed to listen to about this difficult topic. I agree with you 1000%. ER SHOULD NOT have just been casually scrolling IG from the biz page. The petty, asshole side of me is like, "why in the eff! did you do something so thoughtless?!?" For me, the real question is this: "Does her liking the post in question equate to her being transphobic? The reason being, The whole thing is very convoluted. The page she followed is a page that identifies as "gay" promoting destructive rhetoric towards the LGBTQIA community. The post is by someone who identifies as trans speaking out on her own experience. It's clear that she is just passionately trying to "save" others from going thru the pain she has experienced... Just thinking about the complexity of this matrix of experiences makes me tired. I can't imagine what it's like for the people involved. Sometimes I envy people who have a clear, line. I had a friend who is no longer on this planet. He used to tell me that he thought like waffles and I thought like spaghetti. I've been thinking of him a lot since I posted this video.🤣 I hope nothing I've said feels insensitive to you. I don't want to hurt anyone. I want to rise to this the best I can and be there for everyone to the best of my ability. Thank you for sharing your truth.

It’s pretty straightforward to me. There’s no space for bigotry in the beauty community. Personally, I have never purchased from the brand due to both their use of AI art and their excessive pricing, but I certainly never will now. I am also planning on no longer following or engaging with creators who continue to promote the brand. I’m not saying this to put pressure on anyone, just to say that this is the choice that I will be making going forwards. This brand has chosen to not sufficiently address the behaviour that has led to this situation (following and liking transphobic, homophobic & anti-vax accounts and posts on their business Instagram) but have also blocked and restricted those who have asked them legitimate questions about their behaviour and switched off comments on their half-arsed ‘apology’ post. I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and stand with all members of the community. Seeing the harm that these kinds of accounts/posts do to our trans siblings is enough for me to object vehemently to anyone who offers them support. There is no room for transphobia in the makeup community and I would suggest that anyone who feels the same way votes with their money and no longer buys from this brand - there are so many fabulous indie makeup brands out there. I’m not an ‘over-sensitive Gen Z’ - I’m a 45 year old woman who makes my decisions rationally. Ensley Reign’s behaviour has angered me but not surprised me, given their many previous controversies and their continued use of AI to make their packaging. They did this to themselves and any consequences that result from this behaviour are there own fault.

@ I have to very firmly disagree with you on this. There is no question that the accounts and the posts followed and liked were extremely transphobic and, by virtue of that, homophobic as we are all part of the same community. RFK is an extremist anti-science conspiracy theorist who is about as far from mainstream as you can get. I don’t expect a brand to act like a religion or a politician or even an activist but I do want them to be a decent, inclusive organisation that does not do anything to add to the already vicious, unprovoked and highly distasteful anti-trans bigotry that seems to be becoming more and more socially acceptable. There are so many brands out there that produce beautiful makeup, stunning colour stories and fabulous multichromes and that do not engage in this type of activity. If the brand owner is feeling firm enough about her attitudes to use her business account to prop up bigotry then I hate to think what the extent of her views and activities are in private. Something I always try to remember is that brands are not our friend; they are just trying to sell us things to make money. They don’t need us to defend them. We can all make our own choices about where we feel comfortable spending our money and where we do not. I would rather stick my neck out for the LGBTQIA+ community (of which I am a part) than for someone trying to make money by selling pretty coloured powders.

It’s seems very complex to me, as everything does when it comes to humans. We never really know what people have gone through and what really going on for people. They are far from straight forward. Most people are acting from trauma and seeing through the lens of trauma. Most things are not what they seem when it comes to the human condition. I actually used to teach trauma informed care to counselor in my state. And I taught people how to spot trauma responses. Anyway, I digress. I appreciate your input so much. I watched the vid you recommended. And ai don’t thing Gen Z is emotional. I think they’ve been left a legacy of shit and they’re just trying to navigate the mess they’ve inherited. I think there’s room for everyone. I think there’s an abundance of space and when we start seeing it that way we can grow together instead of isolating ourselves from each other. We could end this hatred with connection.

I take the good a person has to offer and sift through . No one knows everything and expecting our politicians to be as smart and pure as God is failure in the thinking .

I love you, and I love your thought process. I agree with you on MOST of this video.. well, ugh. There's only one thing i didn't agree on, really.. and this is something I did a lot of research on. You said Trump is an evil, evil man. I dont agree at all. If you listen to public media, then I can see why you would think that way. If you go down the rabbit hole, and really really do the digging... you may see things differently. There are a lot of things that go into this. I love politics, and Im conservative. Im NOT a far right leaning super conservative. I would like to say im mostly in the middle leaning right. So.. if you ever want more info on this subject (you probably dont, and that's totally ok), I would be happy to show you things, send articles, etc. Our government is very, very, very deeply corrupt. There are words I can't even type in this comment bc it's so heavily censored. It's so deeply concerning how mainstream media can lie and spread misinformation and hate. I love your approach to this video. It definitely needs to be something we are able to speak on more freely without the fear of "getting canceled" ourselves. Dudes, I don’t hate Trump. I don’t love Trump. I hate our gov’t. And I hope that things do get better. But I’m pretty certain they aren’t going to get better or worse. My thoughts are the owner isn't the problem, however gays against groomers (GAG) isn't an organization I respect for different reasons. See GAG the owner of that organization is just in it for attention and not the right reasons. With that said though there's nothing transphobic about the posts she liked. It's against grooming kids.

I don’t want to agree or disagree. But I do think a lot has been lost in translation-if you know what I mean. gAG spreads pretty hateful rhetoric. It’s just more sensationalizing and fear mongering. I’m so exasperated from people using fear to manipulate. I’m super sensitive and defensive about certain types of manipulation. Being too nice is another one. I can just tell when people are being too nice. I’d rather have someone hurt my feelings with some shit than constantly trying to smooth things over. My mom used to tell me this one friend of mine reminded her of Eddie Haskell from leave it to beaver. Not sure if you’re familiar with the reference, but…it’s something I don’t much care for.

The owner of GAG demanded creators to work for them for free and then that content is intellectual property of GAG. The owner of GAG has made a lot of money on their grift.
