when she said "You're probably wondering, 'who is avril lavigne?'" she single handedly took years off my life
@s0lastsummer73 жыл бұрын
If it makes you feel better, I was avril lavigne at her first VMAs for Halloween this year. 😂 naturally zero kids knew what they were looking at, but I've been told I look like her from back then since.... well, since back then. 🤣 I enjoyed putting it together though, lol. I have all the love for avril since she has fought hard through chronic lyme disease to get back to music these days -- her new song Bite Me is like walking into a friggin time machine, GO WATCH IT! 😜 anyway I have an illness that makes me feel like she gets me in a way that most people don't. 💙

Is it too soon to be making “Bratz” doll references? With that weird and extremely hairy man having just kidnapped the girl (from Australia?) to come live in his room full of Bratz dolls and everything. I think he’s part Sasquatch, that would explain why he’s so hairy and why he’s carrying little kids out of the forest, but it sure doesn’t explain his Bratz dolls obsession, that’s just weird beyond explanation!

I'm from the Philippines and when I moved to the states I was so surprised at how frowned upon it was staying with their parents. Or just how it was seen as a failure moving back. Back home, even when daughters and sons are already married- they get a choice to stay in the family home (whichever side) and they would just make another house or room to stay.
@BaileySarian3 жыл бұрын

Right?!?! I am half Filipino and it’s very normal for us to be at home. Normally we stay home until we are married but even then we have that option to live at home with our parents either side. Here in the states it’s like oh your 18, get out. So odd to me.

So true. Some parents actually offer their married kids to stay with them. Extended families are definitely a cultural thing in Asian countries.
@WakeyWakeyEggsandBakey3 жыл бұрын
I think cultures who have the entire extended family living together are amazing and doing the right thing. In the west as you say we are seen as failures if we live with our parents but it's natural and everyone takes care of the children instead of paying strangers to look after them when at work. I think baileys right that in the west, its been sold as being "success" when we move out and "failure" when we are with parents and that situation has been promoted by the big corporations to make money. 😉

In most or all latin american countries is very normal for the kids to live in parent's house till they want.. I mean if you work you help with the bills and stuff but you can stay With your parents till you're 30 or so
@artemisama2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, in Latin America it's common for people in their 20s and 30s to still live with their parents. As long as they work, go to school and pay their bills it's fine. Idk why in the U.S. is so looked down upon :/
@kmold00332 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I’m Hispanic too and sometimes it feels like I get looked down upon despite not being a “dead beat” which is the minimum you can do and help support your family in some way. I’m achieving my goals and using my resources wisely, I feel blessed to have a supportive family despite being in my late 20’s and I do this in hopes of paying them back and more in their elder years. If you’re Hispanic I’m sure you can relate to wanting to make your parents proud after all they sacrificed to be here… but regardless, there’s moments when societal expectations and stereotypes or differences makes my current circumstance feel less than when in reality it shouldn’t. I personally love my family, and I’m happy to spend time with them while I am lucky to say I can, not to say other experiences aren’t important but it’s just different

@@kathiaserrano7740 for some reason in African American families we think of that but then we also think it may take generations for you to get on your feet. Her rich, white parents (suspected by many- as they left her and her younger siblings in their hotel room while they went out for tapas and her blood was found in the family hire car along with other evidence), years of searching, millions donated and still no closer to finding out what happened to her.
