@@belltoc9243 most shades arent safe around eyes in colorpop they tend to use dye that irritates allergic skin, If you do some research you will be surprised how elf is vegan and far better for skin than colorpop

I wonder if she does have some association with Colourpop. If you look at the description/pictures of some of their products, you will see swatches with the “justforfun” at the bottom of the pics. So whether she does them and they use them with permission or not, I’m not sure. An example of this would be the Fade Into Hue pallette. Check the pics. Her gorgeous swatches are there!

I have four of the Elf minis and they deliver more pigment to my honey-tan skin than anything Colourpop, except Supershock shadows.

I agree. Both bare necessities and stone cold fox have 30 shades for $34. They posted a comment say these were $10 each or all five for $42, which makes it 25 shades for $42. Do the math 🙅🏻‍♀️

Price per shade does increase when there are fewer shades per palette. There will always be a base cost for packaging & marketing so will appear as more per shade. This will occur with any brand.

They are a great idea and the shadow quality looks good but I agree with you.... make the color story and undertones unique. Like melt Gemini uniques, ND mini retro unique, how about a grungy spring palette? Just something unique

I just wish they would get rid of those “mattes with glitter.” These don’t feel as luxury as ND, more on par with ELF, but I actually prefer the ELF because of the lack of pressed glitters and “mattes with glitter.” I have Taupe, Blowin’ Smoke, Stone Cold Fox and Bare Necessities, so I will pass. Though I love the small palette size.

These have 0,83g of product pr pan and cost 10$, but the round pans in other palettes have 1-1,18g pr pan. I like the color story of Amor but I would rather get Wine & Only, cause I get 4 more shades for 2$ extra 🤔 PS thank you for the amazing comparisons. I would never have thought that So Jaded could dupe out Cherish ☺ And yes I think you are right that they could have made some fun and crazy color storys instead 😉

I think it’s a great idea for colourpop to come out with something like this. They’re such a good formula and super travel friendly. Lugging around huge pallets when I travel is annoying, I’m always worried they’re going to break. These are so narrow and can fit so easily in a standard makeup bag with the super consistent formula colourpop delivers. I definitely agree though they really should come up with more exciting pallets.

They're pretty, but so much more expensive per pan. Why get a 5 pan for $10 when you can get a 9 pan for $12? It'll be a pass from me. Edit: Also, the square pans hold less product than the round ones.

@@AnetteL.Nielsen Yes, especially since these are more muted than the 9 pans overall. However, I do acknowledge that i tend to prefer large palettes over small ones which is up to individual preference. However, no one is really traveling right now. Seems like a strange move for CP.

It is my suspicion that the round pans are going to be phased out. There’s a lot of new beauty brands and so there might be more competition for the material components. Makes sense to raise the prices but hard to do if your consumers are use to a palette of a certain size to be a certain price. I think the Kylie palettes are made by the same company and have square pans. To save money, I could see them switching to the square pan so they can use the same equipment.

@@dreamof_me what’s your opinion on the switch to square? I’m torn. I prefer square pans in general because I utilize magnetic palettes over original packaging, but I don’t like different shapes and sizes within the same brand. I suspect that they tested the square pan waters with the sandstone/desert palette earlier this year. Then they came out with the square pan rainbow. There must be enough interest/positive feedback about the shape for them to continue OR they had these planned out and scheduled for release and COVID happened.

I really like the ones you yourself came up with, they look more interesting that the actual palettes do. Let's just hope that they will evolve this idea with more fun colour combinations, surpassing the overarching repetition that is apparently going on in their palettes (after watching quite many of your CP reviews, I'm starting to see the repetition and I have bought just one palette from them). But I really do like the design of the palettes, it's simple but pretty; it is quite good for them to make the palette sizes and shapes different, that way it doesn't look the same old over and over again sans the repetetive colours.

They just came out with the wine palette and that one looks just like it but with less pans, and I'm really glad I haven't bought the stone cold fox one yet. Idk I've gotta watch your videos again to make some decisions on the cool tone palette I'm going to go for. Great swatches and comparisons....a lot of work, thank you. I really like the concept of these...I agree they look like ND palettes...but so do so so so many others. The way I think they could have delivered the idea a little differently and better would be to put these in a cardboard package which is much preferable and allows for a gorgeous artwork on the package to stay with the product. I think you are correct too in the colour stories....your example stories are great....they would have been very well received. I'm on the fence to pick them up as I have these colour stories from colourpop already and from other brands tbh....but the layout is a great as I do appreciate a compact palette.

I love the idea of these palettes. I like the smaller size and I love a good neutral but I’m not over the top about any of these. I may pick up one or two just to try them out, but I may skip them entirely too.
