Using of methanol in windshield fluids prohibited in EU and some States. Can you still buy it somewhere?

Pretty easy to buy in the USA. Not sure why it would be prohibited.. it’s the main denaturant in ethanol solvent….so you don’t drink it..

a couple of thoughts wouldn’t it be cheaper to use 90% alcohol………and……….wouldn’t it work better with some surface tension breaker like dish soap?????? just some thoughts

Yes, you could, just need to keep track of water content. Regarding surfactants, if you add surfactants, they will not evaporate and will leave residue. Some summer bug juice has surfactants to clean bugs but they leave residue. That bugs me. Pun intended.

Methoinol is $34 a gallon, it's cheaper to just buy store bought windsheild cleaner

That’s pretty expensive. I would just buy it unless you have need for making a special blend.
