Hi Peter, It did fly, so give yourself a pat on the back. If you are contemplating a 100 motor plane, make it a biplane. The interplane struts should help keep the wings from warping.

That, or it would be better to use some more wooden construction. It wouldn't need to be super fancy, and not even official aircraft grade spruce, it just needs something stiffer per ounce than standard foamboard: basically _any_ high quality wood can be used as reinforcement. Even something really heavy like a hard maple could likely allow the use of a smaller and lighter wingspar, and even something really squishy like Balsa could give a lot more stiffness without necessarily adding a ton of weight Technically, metal or composite would be helpful for the same reasons, but wood is cheaper, and WAY easier to assemble into complex shapes without expensive tools

Yes, it has to be a 100 motor biplane!!! Something that would defeat the dreaded Red Baron! Like Snoopy, your dog could fly it! Okay, too dangerous, I would never want to see your puppy get hurt but you could put a weighted analogue stuffed toy in it! Aerobatics would be required so differential thrust might help.

@@huseyinuguralacatli5064 Yes it was, but from the Peanuts comic strip Snoopy flew the Sopwith Camel. So if Snoopy had a Camel biplane with 100 motors, surely he could defeat the Red Baron. The idea of a 100 motor RC aeroplane seems comical to me (but it would be fun to see someone build and fly) and since Peter has a dog that is a wing walker why not make his dog the pilot? Since you mentioned it, a 100 motor triplane would be fun too!

So if I'm understanding correctly, because the Aileron is at the back edge of the wing, the upwards force not only provided a rolling torque about the fuselage, but also a twisting torque about the wing spars, pitching the leading edge down and creating a larger, downward force opposite the initial force from the aileron?

I know it must suck a lot when a homemade plane crashes, especially when you put so much work and effort into it. I've made a few homemade planes myself with not so good test results. The plane would either fly straight for a while, but then take a nosedive. Or, if I make the wing too light, the plane will do the opposite: it would begin to tilt upwards before crashing back down. As I've found out, it's not easy striking a balance in order to get something to fly. Multiple test runs, multiple crashes, and multiple modifications... It's a vicious cycle.

Amazing community project. Great content. Big thank you to everyone who think it's always great to just repeat what happens in the video. 👍 To those people, who for some unknown reason love to give spoilers.

OK, Peter, this wasn't one of your smashing successes- but it did fly, the concept was sound and you know the several reasons this one didn't prosper. You will do better, bigger, louder, higher and faster; you will- you are Peter Sripol! And that is what you do! Awesome. FR

Perfect example is the SR-71 Blackbird. Leaked like a blowout before taking off.

Do another one, make engine banks, maybe a 3D printed mount, then use the bank itself to make gussets to support the wings... you could alternate the banks, up and down, then support the wings upward and downward... with a central mast, like an ultralight... I would have loved to see a successful lap and a landing.... flight is so easy, yet so hard... mesmerizing to watch
