Does phase correlation matter with reese basses? Or maybe that's the point? Are these going to sound like shit in mono?
@thetylersherman4 жыл бұрын
It does matter quite a bit, and is one of the most common issues with stereo basses like the reese. What will happen is the out of phase bass notes cancel each other out when smashed down to a mono mix. Generally, a good way to save the bass for mono purposes is to run it through 2 parallel chains (like I assume AHEE did here with his Ableton rack). The first chain is a low passed chain that passes through the sub and lower bass frequencies (I usually low pass around 250Hz) and uses a utility to "mono" them. The second chain lets through the mid bass and higher frequencies and leaves them fully stereo (or even boosts their width). What you're left with is a nice fat reese bass that generally won't phase cancel when it's mixed down to mono.

So its a saw doubled down an octave scooped to avoid phasing and ran thru an oscillator and you just modwheel the speed cutoff okay next.
