Simply incredible how far electronics have advanced in the last 40 yrs. Back in the 80's I built a six channel on the old 27Mhz band. The receiver was most daunting. True AM super heterodyne technology, hand turned pick-up coils with 455Khz IF coils. Miracle to have got it working at all. Well done on this very well presented project...Brilliant.

For the Transmitter you don’t need to connect power and ground to the switches, you can just use the internal pull-up or pulldown internal resistors.
@onebreh2 жыл бұрын
it changes the behaviour of the pot. For linear input you need to connect power and grund too.
@conorstewart2214 Жыл бұрын
@@onebreh I know how a pot works, I am on about the toggle switches which they connected to both power and ground, they are connected directly to a digital pin, they have nothing to do with the pots and for switches you only need to connect it to either power or ground, not both, and use either pull up or pull down resistors which are present in the arduinos digital pins. Also pots don’t need to be linear, you get logarithmic pots too. Edit: see how they did the buttons, they can do the switches like that too with only 2 wires.

It would be interesting to try the same project, but with the ESP32 with external antennas connected through the ESP-Now protocol in Long-Range mode. The price range will be the same, and ESP32 can be programmed in Arduino IDE. Also, the weight of the receiver can be reduced using some tiny ESP32-C3 modules, such as Seeeduino.

@conorstewart2214 Жыл бұрын
VTXs are very complex devices, they are far beyond what a hobbyist can do, just like most kinds of radio control, including the modules used in this video, they just use off the shelf radio modules they didn’t design them themselves. Video in general is a lot more difficult to work with and in drones or robotics they usually just take the camera and connect it to a VTX sometimes through an OSD chip.

yeah, 1.5 miles is not very far at all, 3.1 miles (5km) isnt that far. When changing the channel inversion to control the servo, I noticed that there was an error in the assignment of channels to pins. Namely, the A3 NANO CH4 pin of the transmitter controls the D0 (RX) pin of the ATmega328P-PU_DIP CH1 of the receiver. It is similar with A1 - CH2 of the transmitter, and on the receiver it is CH3 - D3. TRIM in the transmitter works well for me. I haven't changed anything in the code, the pins are assigned as in the shared code. How and where can this be fixed?

Does the battery power required have to be 9 volts? and after I used a 7.4 volt battery it couldn't transmit to the receiver
@Kendin-Yap Жыл бұрын
7.4V battery is sufficient. 9V not required. If you're sure you've done everything right with the soldering, you're left with the NRF24 modules. NRF24 modules are a bit unstable and their connection can sometimes be problematic. You can try two different interesting methods for the connection problem. One of them is to hold the metal part of the antenna's connection socket firmly with two fingers. The human body can act as an antenna booster, and sometimes it works. Another method is one that a follower of mine discovered and said it works; Wrapping the antennas with aluminum foil. This can work as a booster for antennas and enable the two modules to communicate.
