Beautiful job showing off some beautifully figured wood. I wish you would have showed the KO'd box, I keep thinking in terms of salvaging so wondering if that is possible. Mobility being an issue, IIWMI'D make a quick wheeled cart, maybe 1/2 to 2/3 the height of the workbench, for moving material around the shop, eventually maybe motorized but initially w/a rope to pull it by & cleat to cool the rope on. I totally should have showed the broken box. I did try to salvage it but it was a goner. It’s funny you mentioned making a cart. I was thinking the same thing after it broke because this isn’t the first time I’ve dropped something in the shop. Maybe a good up and coming project. Thanks for watching 😊👊🏻

@@ChadPalmer let me tell you a little story. Made my block out of scrap and glued last night. Sat down this morning to make a design. Looked at my saw and realized there was no way in hell that block was going to fit. So I cut it down to size. My poor saw struggled but made it thru. Then as I was gluing the drawer, the tip broke off. Fixed it, but its in the front. Everything is glued up now, but good grief. When I stepped away finally my words were....glad that's over! Lol. Definitely a learning curve for me.

Nice!! I’m struggling through my first bandsaw box. I just realized after years of woodworking I took poor advice setting up my bandsaw. So what I thought was a pos bandsaw was just a bad set up. We’ll see how the rest goes.

What finish was it you used on the curly maple?

I used wipe on polyurethane. I had some broken pieces from the box I dropped so I tried a few different types I tired the poly also shellac/lacquer but liked how the poly came out so I went with that in the long run.

I would have used the Rigid spindle sander to clean up the inside of the box. Shame Paduk is going to turn brown on you. Nice job!

Thanks rob. Thats a great idea. I flocked the inside of the box and the inner shell so I didn't really bother. The outside of the box still has that beautiful pad auk look because I sealed it. Thank for your support and watching. I'm all about learning. :)

In the next month or so I’m going to make a little cart to push around in the shop. I’m Located in Canada, Abbotsford British Columbia. 40 min outside the city of Vancouver BC. How about you 🤗👊🏻

Hi Chad yes it's a big disappointment when project's break i have had similar things happen, I stop and walk away just to cool off before continuing with my project. yes it helps. what was in the small bottle you used about 5minutes into video when applying pattern?

Oooo that was two part spray adhesive. You put the glue on one side of the piece then spray the other side. It will bond two board together in seconds. Also works for metal plastic exc. I love using it. I use it for tons of stuff in the shop. Thanks for watching 😊👊🏻

Sorry for the late reply. Flocking is like a velvet inside. I new nothing about it until I made this video. It's so easy to use and excellent for jewelry boxes.

Hey - we all screw things up sometimes. Give you credit for dropping one and not just trying hide it or something. I recently did one of these where I forgot to cut the back and front off the drawer before hollowing it out. I got a different colored piece of wood and changed the plan. But not until after I felt pretty stupid When life hands you lemons….
