So I'm taking classes for music recording technology which is also teaching me the ins and outs of protools. I had subscribed to a youtube producer that uses FL studio but i felt like I couldn't relate. After searching on youtube for producers who use protools, your channel came up. This is the first video Ive watched so far and i must say, I'm hooked. Im honored to be alongside you, aswell as 2.6k subscribers, as you go through this wonderful musical journey. Youre one dope artist.

You werent wrong when you said "its all gon end up on protools anyway, better start everything from here" 👏🏼💯 Learned from fruity loops, mastered from ableton. Moved everything to ableton now tryna learn protools, just stared with protools today man, since i am already into music, it was a little more easier to navigate thru. I dont really move around daws that much but i like learning on different working spaces as it pushes me towards new areas and not get spoiled by my comfort zone and since protools is used in many studios might even learn that shit if i ever hit any recording studios in my life.. And your video was definitely was inspiration man, the way u make beats and made it look effortless really inspires me to push and work longer till i understand and feel free to use protools furthur.. u got a sub man🙏🏽🔥

awesome content bro.. by any chance you have any recommendations on what midi controller to get? im trying to build my own home studio
@amirperrymusic
@amirperrymusic 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks bro. When it comes to controllers, it really depends on your needs. If you're like me and really just want to use it for the keys, find one that has some weighted keys that's not too expensive. Any model from any brand will suffice. With all that being said, I do like native instruments midi controller and I've contemplated buying it only because I would be able to change sounds right from keyboard.

This was “dope”. We still say dope in 2019 right? This was motivating. Cool to see you move to your creations. Seems like it’s important for the music to literally move you. True expression that will translate to others. I’ll love to see more technical videos with this same theme.

The word dope will be around forever! If I gotta make sure of it myself. Lol I'm gone be putting together some more technical stuff for the channel soon. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching. I appreciate it!

Amir Perry dope brother. Lookin forward to learning from the series. I’d probably even purchase a class if you were so inclined to create one. Matt D’Avella has a great format around this just instead of classes he does patreon.

Yea, I've been wanting to start a patreon because a few people have suggested I do so. I think it's time to look into it. Thanks man!

I’m been working with pro tools for a couple years now doing traditional studio work and sound design but I want to expand to beat making/producing just to expand my skill set and have some sort of creative outlet so thank you for these videos man. Also quick question, what are you doing when you drag out those hats to be perfect in time on the piano roll? In the past all I do is play a bar or 2 of hats and then copy paste+quantize but your way seems so much faster and efficient.

I'm just using the draw tool and drawing on the grid. It'll insert notes on whatever you have your grid set to.
