You're so tallented and have entirely inspired me! Normally I make practical things like coats and jeans but after I watch ALL of your videos I've decided to give it a go!! I've already created a 2 meter high set of fairy wings so I'm not going to go to over board with the dress.

Wow, this is beautiful! Where did you get your lace? I only see the bolts of lace instead of small appliques at the fabric store.
@AngelaCostumery9 жыл бұрын
Fearie Star Some lace can be cut apart into pieces which can be used as appliques! It just depends on how it is woven/made.

Is there a reason why you hemmed the top part by hand and not machine and same wiyh the pin base? Does it look better or is it just preference? I want to make this and want to get it as close to right the first time. (:

So I am thinking about making my own prom dress. However I have only little textiles experience and the dress I want to make is extremely ambitious. Its a sweet heart bodice covered in mesh red roses which fall onto a cream tulle skirt. I have seen pictures of it, however I cant seem to find anywhere to buy it, so I though I may be able to make it. Do you have any tips that could help?
@ellajane77039 жыл бұрын
+Ella Jane btw I LOVE LOVE LOVE this dress its so cute.
@MsCamcam9998 жыл бұрын
OMG!!! I'm doing almost the exact same thing!! I'm making my own prom dress with a sweetheart bodice covered in lace/mesh but with a satin/taffeta skirt. I think you just have to take it really slow and plan out EVERYTHING, which u probably already know. Get some really cheap fabric from amazon and experiment with different methods. I know where you're coming from tho, because while I sew as a pastime, I have never taken on a project as big as my current one. just find tons of videos and talk to the women in any local fabric store. Hope your dress turns out as well as you imagined!!! You can do it!!!!!
@MsCamcam9998 жыл бұрын

Your videos are so cool. I love the music behind this one ;) As a suggestion for future videos though, could you maybe do some tutorials on sewing? For example, how to machine stitch/freehand stitch well, sew on sequins/beads etc. I'm creating the final product for my GCSE Textiles soon, and so far I am making the prototype which doesn't look too great. It's just a classic 1920s shift dress, but I want the stitching, embroidery and ornaments to look perfect on the final product. I saw your work in the BuzzFeed article and I was amazed. You're very talented, and help from a professional would be awesome.
