That goes look like a great variation of the Manhattan.

just getting in the world of amaro and Braulio...WOW what a distinct and amazing flavor- could drink this on a train ride through switzerland...i would love to find more cocktails with it, but i realize how unique they'd have to be to with such flavor

Yes! The flavor of braulio is so interesting and distinctive. I find it to work well in several “all alcohol” cocktails that have a big bowl of the flavors. It mixes super well with bourbon and gin. Thanks for watching!

Looks like a great drink, I'll have to pick up some Braulio. I bought my first Amaro (Averna) yesterday and was a bit surprised it wasn't nearly as bitter as I thought. Making a black Manhattan it didn't have that bitter note I was hoping for and was a bit sweet. I found a Manhattan with Cocci was a bit too vanilla forward and was thinking of doing 0.5oz of Averna with 0.5oz of Cocci di Torino with 0.25oz of Campari to give that slight bitter note. Have you tried something along these lines or is there an Amaro such as Braulio that might be a better solution? Thanks

Averne is a pastry-style amaro which makes it sweeter and have those candied-fruit notes. I would try Zucca or Cynar black label to get more bitter complexity. Braulio is amazing too if you like some smoke or ash notes. No campari needed if you use any of these 3. Cheers!

Looks like you added a few dashes of something at the end, what was that??

I am not sure I can get Braulio. Do you recommend any other Amari?

Braulio is very unique. While there is nothing like it I would probably go with some thing that has a “medicinal” profile such as Fernet. Cheers to you and Merry Christmas.
