7.3 in the super duty was intercooled, OBS didn't have an intercooler, but one can be stuffed in. Early 7.3 SD had all aluminum intercooler. You should get a OBS diesel rad support, it sits deeper between the frame rails to support the bottom of the radiator, and won't block the rad fins like the gas support would. When you re-install the bed, buy Ford bolt kit XC3Z-9900038-AA for a Superduty, it has torx head bolts and j-nuts to make future bed removal easier. I gave away a 460 to replace it with a 7.3

It's really thorough and I appreciate the content you make. I'm about 30 minites from you Rich and I've got a 2006 Dodge 2500 Mega Cab with the 5.9L that's frame and body aren't in horrible condition. I want to do a frame and rocker restoration on it this summer but I'm still unsure what would be best to coat the rockers with. I originally thought line x, Bullet or Raptor liner, but have heard the same thing as you, that moisture gets trapped under the coating and it rots from the under the coating. I too want my new to me truck to last but I don't know what the best route to go is. Just gravel guard and keep touching it up? I thought maybe getting some RBP electric step rails would maybe take the brunt of all the stone damage to the rockers. Anyone have some advise?
