Kenny, great addition to your musical instrument collection. Looking forward to seeing how this ukulele compares to the acoustic one regarding sound. In your next video could you please include a link to where you purchased the kit/parts. Looking forward to part 2, a great build as usual.

Interesting and different Kenny - that always positive. But as a non-smoker and not knowing any cigar addicts where do I get a box? It's seems that there is a dearth of boxes in the UK but some for sale in US. So perhaps an eBay import is required. The other bits seem to be available from Amazon. My eldest granddaughter (and I'm a very lucky man with 4) is a big Ukulele fan and has several which she plays. So I'm thinking - a possible Christmas present? I'm looking forward seeing the rest of the build and hearing your recital at the end of it. Thanks again Kenny.

The box of the uke doesn't even have to be a cigar box Mike. It can be any thin walled wooden box. Heck, you could even make one and attach the neck to it. It would work just the same. Thanks for tuning in.

Pretty cool Ken. I’ve not seen made with the neck attached to the box as you are, mostly the neck passes al the way through the box as you mentioned above. Another suggestion I have seen is a vintage 1 gallon oil can. For the woodworker maybe an old turpentine or stain can. Looks like a lot of fun 😁

What should be the distance between the bridge and the nut? Actual cms please - thanks
@acutabove_woodworkings Жыл бұрын
Depending on the scale of the instrument John, the measurement varies. The placement of the bridge is actually measure from the 12th fret, NOT from the nut and that measurement varies depending on the scale and position of your fret wires. It is specific to the neck you are constructing and without knowing the exact scale and the positions of your fret wires, I'm not even able to hazard a guess. Sorry about that. Thanks for tuning in sir.

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking here. Can you clarify? Thanks for tuning in.
