Beautiful handle. I’d like one with the resin part holding the knot and a silver tip badger knot. I see they’re definitely not cheap, but looking at the craftsmanship that you put in them I’d say they’re worth the investment. Good work buddy

Nice piece! Curious that you used silicone instead epoxy; purposefully gor easier knot replacement? How quickly do knots need replacement (on average, without abuse)? Nice design and beautiful execution. Cheers!

They don't NEED it, but people like to change them so this prevents damage to the handle.

Silicone to glue the knot? Interesting. most I've heard before have used epoxy. What advantage does the silicone give you?
@StephenJoiner6 жыл бұрын
It's temporary (with some effort) so it allows changing the knot without destroying the existing knot or handle
@richardtorres63175 жыл бұрын
Your are a master very very nice
@j.g.20997 жыл бұрын
Do you have a reason for using silicone rather than a 2-part epoxy to attach the knot? I presume silicone likely makes it easy to remove the knot if you wanted to later.
@StephenJoiner7 жыл бұрын
That's exactly why. I don't want anyone to have to struggle to remove a knot and risk damaging the handle.
@terrykidd44176 жыл бұрын
one problem, it's a mt 1. you have to buy a sleeve for you lathe if it's a mt 2. It will make it go from mt 2 down to mt 1. 10 dollars or so. go to amazon and look for them.

Why not just pour resin with whichever ornaments you want into a mold? This seems like too much job just for some perfect symmetry? And so much resin wasted, you could at least start from circular mold 😳
@StephenJoiner2 жыл бұрын
This is what is necessary to use the wood and resin together. I'm not dumb - I have been doing this a long time. This is the best and possibly only way at this scale. Look up "wood and resin" on KZbin and you will see this is how everyone does it.

The best Shave Brush on the market today is my Simpson Trafalgar's T-3 better then boar cheaper in the long run it is 29mm. i mic it' it's like buying a $275 Badger hair brush, no cleaning the brush, no need for a brush stand, fast drying time, well not fall apart like a Badger Hair or boar can, cheap to buy, I have owned it for 5 Years with no hair loss with no problems wheelchair Larry Merry Christmas
