The giveaway that it is Red Elm to me was when you were showing the bark on log stack. The wood peckers will drill holes 1 inch apart in a perfect ring/ circle clear around the Elms about every foot up the trees. I see the woodpecker rings plain as day. Excellent firewood...👍👍

It is also great firewood as well. The logs I got came from the lower Connecticut Valley area of New Hampshire Lots of different trees grow in the Connecticut River basin on the New Hampshire and Vermont sides . One of my favorite to sawmill and for firewood is black locust. Do you ever get any black locust? When dry it burns hot and long. I don't recommend filling the stove full of it. I mix it and save it for the coldest days

Thanks for the Sunday video, enjoy them what ever day you post them. I know that it is very hard to have to work through illness when you are owner, boss and employee of the business but don’t let it drag you down to far and end up having a hospital stay to recover, a couple days being off or light duty work is a whole lot better than a week in bed to recoup. I’m sure you and Dana will figure out what is the problem with Buster and put you back on track to production, good luck!

That mystery wood is Red Elm, (Slippery elm). Here is an idea on the stakes for the trailer, Take the bolts out and weld a piece of steel across the bottom of the angle pieces for the 4x4 bunks to lay on when they are in place between the angle pieces. This would help hold the stakes from bouncing around with the trailer empty. Buster will live, the packing on the piston in the cylinder let go, we only get so many strokes in life! same for Buster.

That would be nice. But it is not an off the shelf cylinder. I suspect a piece of metal debris found its way into the cylinder and now it has scored the tube and galled it up. So it will likely need a new tube and piston. But the piston isn’t a simple design. And that is a pain.
