We watched your video as instructional aid for our STEM project between high school Biology II students and Introduction to Engineering students. The Biology II students taught the engineering students about aquatic insects and biomimicry and then the engineering students taught the Biology students about CAD and 3D printing. We 3D printed all the molds and the students are making soft plastic baits. The engineering students are doing all the casting so we showed your video to give the Biology II students a look at the casting process. We are using a hand held injector to do this.

I know you did something similar a few weeks ago. I'm thinking pour the black into the injector the Chartreuse then cap.

The stingers are wicked looking. I like the pattern of the worms but they are really bright color for a worm. I guess they would work well in some conditions. I never discount a color until I've used it. I've caught bunches of fish on some weird looking baits. I bet the divider cup works would be bad ass black and red.

I mixed up 2 colors in separate cups and poured them into my injector. One of the worst f#ckups I did, not because of the pouring of 2 colors but once I put the cap on the injector I pushed the plunger to get the air out (like a doctor does a needle) and I wasn't wearing gloves... let's just say my hand and legs were just a little blistered...

You don't actually need to use plastic for making the template. There's tons of things that can work if you want something like this and don't have it.
@WorldsWorstFishing4 жыл бұрын
such as?
@nottelling65984 жыл бұрын
@@WorldsWorstFishing Literally any mold-able material that you can cut in half while still retaining the same general dimensions when removed from the cup. Because the cup is wider at the top than the bottom, a little mold-release on the cup and you can use just about anything. Plaster, wax, paper mache, some hot glue that you smeared on the inside of the cup with a popcicle stick bracing the general shape in the gap between the walls, some sawdust that you mixed with glue to make a paste, a piece of junk-mail that you trimmed with scissors until it fit just right... There's a lot of options for finding the cross-section of the cup for making a template. Edit: Concentrated Jello would be excellent for this. Regular jello would be too weak, but concentrated jello would be perfect. It wouldn't be all that different from using bait plastic if you don't make lures but still want to have a divider cup for other kinds of crafts. It's also dirt cheap if you don't care about the flavor.
