They are pretty Ellen! I have tried 10% clay (to oil) using rhassoul clay and it made a gorgeous feeling soap, it is ever so slightly exfoliating but it's very gentle and creamy really.

An awful lot of mens fragrances have some floral notes, sometimes unknown by males. 😜My hubby found that out after I started soaping. Hasn't changed his mind about liking them. These are lovely! Cheers 👍🤗

Hello Ellen. I love all of your videos they are very informative and helpful. I made my first cold press soap today using your hemp seed oil soap recipe. After I made it, I panicked not knowing how to clean up. Would you please do a video on how to clean up after soap making? I havent seen many videis on this topic. Many suggest to leave the dirty containers to dry up for a few days and then wash them with its own soap. What do you suggest?

That's a good video suggestion, thanks! I wipe my containers out with paper towels then wash in hot soapy water right after making the batch.

You have a way with colors, beautiful and delicate ❤ How are your fingers healing? I feel your pain, I was bit by a dog on my knuckle, down to the bone a week ago and boy oh boy…swelled up like a golf ball, antibiotics for a week. It’s still quite sore 😢

I once made the lots and lots of clay from humblebee and me and i still was able to swirl 😂. So its possible, even with a ton of dry ingredients

Do the colloidal oats give the soap a bumpy feel? I used those and kaolin clay in my last 2 batches, and both turned out so nice and creamy but with a bumpy texture

If they aren't a super fine grind, it could make a bumpy surface.?. I haven't had that issue.

I typically premix my colors in distilled water, just enough to wet them and get a smooth slurry.

@@EllenRuthSoap do you discount the water used for your colors from the water used for your lye or is it extra water? Also, you mentioned you use oil to mix your oxides. Is this extra oil, just enough to mix the oxides? I never know how to premix my colors. I’m afraid I’ll ruin my soap if I over use oils. Thank you!

@@Marshirmarshir It's such a small amount it doesn't really even effect the super fat. I don't include these extras in my total soap calculations, but you can always use some of the oils from the soap batter too...
