omg yesss when I first started my historybounding wardrobe I thought it was just me that couldn't lace quickly. It takes soooo long! And it's even worse when you're stuck in something making you uncomfortable. I was already thinking about opening a seam in my wearable mockup of an 18th century ish dress so I can get in and out of it quickly without sacrificing the size adjustability of lacing

I LOVE this outfit!! I have never worn a corset/stays, but I do have a “tudorbounding” kirtle I made last year that laces up at the sides and I honestly love the process of lacing it up, it makes me feel very fancy and extra. That said, I am a morning person and I don’t mind lengthy getting-ready processes! And I also find garments with side openings that connect under the arm to be quite tricky to get into, so I like that the side-lacings open all the way.

oh, the colors are just SO lovely, the dress looks very cute and pretty comfortable, and it makes me miss ren faires SO much... haven't been to one in several years, and now I feel the strong need to go find one and attend!

This is lovely🥰, and THE COLOURS really speak to me. And as a ren faire is about fun and vibes, I think it's perfect for the job. TFS 🙂

It turned out beautifully! I hope you keep experiments with the zipper, as I think that is a cool shortcut !

i love wearing corsets because they help with posture-related back pain. my main problem with having to fully unlace things to wear them is that the laces disappear (my cat)
