What a great end result and video submission. Best banksia pod project I’ve seen.

Thanks kevin! It was sure a learning curve using it but definitely worth it.

5:55 why pressure and not vacuum? Both, the video and the workmanship of the woodworking is just great

Thanks Martin, I don’t have a vacuum but if I did I would have definitely used that instead.

Any reason behind using epoxy over say, titebond 3? Going to make a few nets myself.

How thick were the strips of wood you used?
@raymondistenes16043 жыл бұрын
Great handle and build. Where did you get the net and what type of line did you use to tie it on?
@caseystekly21783 жыл бұрын
Awesome! How thin and wide are you making the strips for the hoop?

Looks amazing Great job! I enjoyed the video Could you share with me the approximate size of the form you built for your net?
@lisabrodersen83024 жыл бұрын
Nice job. Looks awesome. Why use resin instead of wood glue for the thin pieces. Is it stronger?
@nathanjohnson19834 жыл бұрын
That’s awesome, where did you get the rubber net from?
@masondenton2524 жыл бұрын
Where do you get the material for this project? Love the video want to do one of my own projects like this!
@peterbrouwer1433 жыл бұрын
Amazing! What was the liquid you put on the pod before the resin? Was that a stabilizer?
@blacktimbercompany57163 жыл бұрын
I stabilized it with a very thin CA glue. Worked great.

Great video!. I’m just wondering when you bend the wood do you just soak it in water or do you steam it. And if you soak it in water how long do you do it for. Also how do you put a groove in with a file?
@blacktimbercompany57164 жыл бұрын
I soaked it in hot water for about 30 minutes. As for the groove I just filled it in slowly and it didn’t take to long.
@dougcollins16594 жыл бұрын
Sweet. How long did you let the wood soak in the tube before bending it?
@blacktimbercompany57164 жыл бұрын
Only about an hour.

Just an idea but maybe put down wax paper on top of the form jig?or tape? idk there's a solution for sure
