@@JPsBladeworksASMR Like maybe a sword or an axe? Personally I think it's best to step out of your comfort zone with your work occasionally. I would love to see a piece fusing two drastically different patterns together.

Hey ... @ 11:34 when you score a center line (I don't know if that's the name for it, but I hope you know what I mean) it looks totally angled and wrong.... IDK if it's the camera angle or something but on the right side it starts off HIGHER then where it ends on the left side.... Like the left side looks liek the correct CENTER, but the right side looks WAY YOO HIGH..... maybe it's just me 🤷♂
@JPsBladeworksASMR20 сағат бұрын
Itd the angle and the wood its self isnt square to the rest of the knife. A little deviation can make the wood angle a lot tip to end. Thats why i it looks to be at an angle. So i do the center line based off the knife then i space my handle taper based on that center line.

Beautiful blade. Curious if you pin handles? I usually do but I’ve never had one come loose when I don’t, I just hear about it or see it on tv.

That turned out nice. Love the pattern. I think I would put a pin in the handle if I was to use it to chop anything.

I'm wondering now...copper coated BB's are steel core..and with what you just did.. there would be small stripes of copper in the Damascus...would love to see... Love your knives and very worth the subscription...keep making vids..I love this

What does twisting the hot metal do in the process
@waylincaraway5013Күн бұрын
I believe it distorts the pattern and spreads it all out.

Gives it the look by distorting the pattern.

Love the blade love the handle but you needed mechanical device to hold handle to the blade the epoxy will break down or crack if you use it for chopping it makes the handle you need at least two pins or 1 pin just for a little extra security
@JPsBladeworksASMR21 сағат бұрын
I havent had any issues with just epoxy. I never use pins on hidden tang knives. I just do notches and call it a day

So I've seen you use WD-40 in place of Borax... is it any cheaper to use WD-40? I know it's easier..... much MUCH EASIER.... nut how do the costs compare AND how do the results compare too?
@JPsBladeworksASMR21 сағат бұрын
Not sure the cost comparison. Its pretty much the same. I can get both relatively cheap. All i know is i can sprinkle borax on hot metal. Cant say the same about wd40. I mean i can but it wouldnt be smart 😅
