First of all congrats it is beatiful what you do. As a leather lover i must say you are a máster. Would you answer one question please? In the 5:06 when you cut the edges, then you go to do the leash, and then the video continues when the bag is already inside out, but is not clear if you sewed the edges? Pliz help! Tnks on avance Best regards

I think in hindsight I would have used a French seam on the bottom hem since you could open the top at the zipper. Would be a nice finish. Maybe add a lining. Nice work. You make the first on and we all get to make then next ones.
@kevinorr68805 жыл бұрын
French seam is for material. NOT so much for leather.

Personally, I use surgical gloves when leather dying - your skin is raw hide, too, and it soaks up dyes just as easily as the leather does. They're cheap, so it's worth it.

Please, I have a question about covers, how do you sew it ? Thank you in advance.💐💐
@robertarmin14415 жыл бұрын
He's using a walking foot, which is available as an attachment for most home sewing machines. As long as you're only sewing light leathers of less than 1mm, they should be able to cope, if you work slowly. Thicker leathers will require hand sewing with an awl to open up the hole, if you don't have access to an industrial-weight sewing machine.

Brass Anvil Leather that's awesome of you to give out the dimensions as well as the video. I just paused the video and counted everything on the mat but I think it's cool you did that. I also went to Target after Xmas and they had a dopp case made of cotton and pleather on clearance for $1. So I bought it and ripped the stitches to make a pattern. I also keep an eye on pet leashes on clearance. I've got quite a few eyelets and hooks for under $1. Just a tip to anyone interested

Love the video, but I have a problema with the knife you are using. I really don't understand why someone would use that knife to cut leather, It's pretty and seems kind of awesome to use, but the design it's very inefficient for the need that has to cover, and the amount of pressure in the index finger makes it a very bad choice against a regular exacto knife, also, seems to be really susceptible to side movement when making a cut... The fact that something works doesn't mean it can be change for something better.
@petersmedley4596 жыл бұрын
Alejandro Garay, it’s called a head knife and is a leather workers basic tool. It is highly manoeuvrable, can reach into corners, cut curves, as well as be rolled to cut. It’s a traditional tool and the one used was a beautiful example, made of good tool steel and not pressed stainless steel. The edge on it will easily be sharp enough to shave with. I wouldn’t be without mine!
