Making a Mid-Century Modern Entryway Organizer // woodworking

Mid-Century Modern Entryway Organizer made from cherry.
The main carcass consists of mitre joints that are reinforced with dovetail splines on each corner. The back panel is rabbeted and sits in a grove to allow for wood expansion when the seasons change.

Dude, that’s a great idea! I use a natural tung oil on most of my projects. I try to stick to organic products whenever possible.

Good job. How did you get your splines so thin? Was that straight off the rip saw?

Thanks! I saw the splines as close and possible, but leave the strip long enough so that I can plane it down to final thickness. once it’s perfect, I cut them into individual splines. Hope that helps!
