I am astonished at how simple you make this look, to the average person, this would be a heroic undertaking. Well done Peter, you are an inspiration.

The Bowsprit looks great Peter when she's all matted up! she should look elegant and beautiful just as we all anticipated with your finishing carpentry and shipwright skills!

Once again I’m amazed with how easy you make this hard work look, and you do it with bravery! Cutting out that toe rail would make me fearful that I would never get it seamless when replacing. That’s one strong bowsprit nice work!

Pretty Work! We call your "bowspirt" a "pulpit" in the sportboat building world and the the timber under the deck is the "king plank".

Peter's meticulous rebuilding of the bowsprit is nothing short of inspirational. The craftsmanship and dedication he brings to transforming that beautiful piece of wood into a stunning work of art showcase a remarkable talent. His ability to breathe new life into the material, infusing it with both elegance and functionality, is a testament to his extraordinary skill and artistic vision.

The heck with Bowsprit, the word of the week should have been elliptical. That was for me a stroke of genius and I was very pleased with the results as were you. Yet again a very informative and entertaining video and even early on top of that. Thanks.

The bowsprit turned out beautifully! Well done, Peter! One thing I have to say is that your willingness to just jump right in and do these not-so-simple projects just instills confidence in me to go out and tackle problems and just get on with it. Much appreciated. Looking forward to the day-in-the-life video. Cheers!

I have no bowsprit on my boat. I also continue to miss the the old intro that you have introduced each episode for the past many years. I’m happy to see your finger bandage is getting smaller. Since Andrea is participating in the beer of the week, I am of the opinion she prefers, like me, a mundane Canadian lager to the beers you have been tasting these past few weeks. Cheers!!

The Spade or Vulcan. The problem with the spade is the stainless steel bolt which creates galvanic corrosion. Had to replace Spade anchors after seven years or so but for that replacement price I bought 30 years of stress free anchoring. The principle is clear; concave not convex. My experience with Bruce are not so favourable but Fortress is also brilliant in specific conditions. The Vulcan which I now have incorporates the concept of the Spade with a single cast unit. If you want a second anchor you can put together in two minutes the Spade is incredible.

I’m sure you thought about it: why did you cut off the material at the end - or tip - of the elliptic or elliptical ellipse? 22:33 Was it also in a bad condition? With that few inches you’d have a better chance of the anchor not hitting your bow, when current or wind bring it closer to the boat (even more if it’s not on the roller yet… 18:47 ) Probably I’m wrong, but why?🧐, just want to learn from your experience and I’m very thankful for that. 🙏🏻😌 Thx for your fantastic show, with your also fantastic „better half“ 🤗 Lothar from Düsseldorf, Rhineland, Germany

In theory, if you have a superhydrophobic coating that coats a boat inside and out, how much longer would it last, or hold up?? Expecially for a wood boat, and expecially, if the coating is absorbed into the wood... Some of them last 9 years in normall car applications. Hmm.

Regarding the wooden bowsprit ( the hinge part where the anker pivots) ...did you take in account for the wear on it? The anker chain will bang and grind into it, so the wood will suffer big time.

"Design as you build" combined with "found stock" and a moving boat doesn't always turn out as well as this. Very nice. But I have no sympathy for you complaining about movement while in a nice shelter with the deck at bench height, lol.
