Today we're building a pool cue. I'm still very much a beginner with cuemaking but I am proud of this one!
I recommend Daisy for carbon fiber shaft tubes: www.carbonfibercue.com/

This is a very beautiful cue. I have seen you write you are a new cue maker and still learning. I understand there is always room to learn. Every true master at a craft like this knows that. But, you have reached a stage where one should not consider you new no matter how long you have been building cues. I wish you were located in St. Louis.

After an unsuccessful 2 years long, teen-aged attempt to become proficient at pool, I've managed to live happily for 53 years without attempting to play at billiards even once. On an impulse I watched this video. I totally enjoyed watching the painstaking process you do in order to create your product! If all craftsmen struggled to build such care and quality into the things they produce I'm convinced we would all be living in a better world.

Opposite here. I got really good at pool at a young age and was beating all the local pro's by my mid teens. I got married at 19 and kept my hand in for a few years then decided a good father wouldn't be hanging out in pool rooms and bars till the wee hours so I put my stick down. I've never regretted that decision. I'm also 53👍. Watching this guy make these cues has lit the fire back up in me though 😂. I'll have to see where my 53 year old eyesight can get me.

@Steve Smith Never too late. I play pool with my sons everyday in my living room. I have a 12 year old that is really starting to blossom on the table and a 7 year old that's still getting his stroke figured out. I only go to the bars when we're on vacation in the Philippines and it's strictly to play pool with the absolute hustling, killer pool players they have over there. Pick up a cue and go hit some balls!!!!!

@@truss6282 there's not much action where I live now but I dug my old cues out and they're still in perfect shape. Planning to get my stroke back on step and go find some places to play some player's and see what I need to work on.

Like how that one cue turned out… I’ve been doing cue shaft repairs and tip installs for many years. Just doing it mostly as a hobby and request for those who just don’t have the money, but, love the game of pool. So I’m a serious amateur at this. (Have made a few two piece cues in the last three years and repaired some broken butt ends at/near the pin joints with surprising good results). Keep up the good work. Enjoy your videos 👍

Lambros Cues started in the basement of his parents house in Baltimore Maryland in the early 90s, your attention to detail and precision craftsmanship reminds me of his cues. Today he's one of the premiere Q makers in the world and I see you on the same type of trajectory. I knew Timmy Scruggs and Mike Cochran as well, they were in Baltimore Maryland too. Awesome job constructing these cues and the videos as well, so entertaining.

Please can u make a tutorial for making a carbon fiber shaft? You'll be the first and only one on youtube to make such a video, and I'm really curious how it made and I searched all over youtube and could find any thing about pools carbon fiber.
@felipe69pl
@felipe69pl Жыл бұрын
Nobody will share the details of carbon shaft making because this small details are define playability differences at the end of the process (density of filament, optionally additional small weight bolt to reach optimal weight and balance point, there is too many 2-pc high density filament foams on the market with different kg/m3 values. Joint collars from Juma or Elforyb and brass/aluminium insert but for big pins like 3/8*10, wavy, radial I saw also carbon shafts with wooden and phenolic inserts And the main thing which affects on deflection - front light, different foam or leaving first X cm of carbon tubes empty, also light material for LD short ferrule (0.15-0.3") and vault plate from polycarbonate, not acrylic. Polycarbonate vault plates density are similar to wood so they doesn't affect shaft playability
@felipe69pl
@felipe69pl Жыл бұрын
@@essaalfi5884 forgot about the most important thing - blanks quality, wałl thickness can be 0,9-1,0 can be 1,3+ also there is different number and direction of fiber layers, many times long 15-18" pro-taper isn't available, only conical blanks (sic!)
