What a fascinating idea! The look is unique and quite pretty. How much like sand paper are the 'clay dust' bottoms?

More than I intended, for sure! It's totally my fault for rushing that stage though, the clay dust will stay the shape it goes into the kiln. If I'd have prepared it by shaking it to break it up instead of (or as an additional stage after) crushing it, the edges would have been more rounded and it wouldn't have been sandpapery.
