Careful with those gloves when drilling! If only one chip catches it, your hand will end up in the drill press. If at all, wear only thin latex gloves that will just tear apart if something like this happens. 2:37

Nice work, great video but I must agree with Wasper216. About 15 years ago I had an apprentice working with me drilling holes in angle iron sections on a vertical driller, whilst I was welding said sections together. Unfortunately he was wearing rigger gloves at the time, and you've guessed it, the swarf from the drill got caught in his glove. By the time I got to the driller there was just a glove going round with the drill, I thought he had torn his hand off. Luckily, if you can call it that he lost only a finger. So the lesson was learned, never wear gloves while drilling. Before anyone asks , yes there was an emergency stop on the driller, but for whatever reason it had been by passed, we were unaware.🖕

Brilliant. New subscriber since yesterday, i watched your video on the valve modifications. You mentioned the rotary station and i was hoping to see it soon. I am delighted this morning. Very interesting the ingenious way you made the sprocket. Love the you're recycling old tanks, but also the simplicity of your methods. If i had to do such a project, and i might will in a near future, i would have calculated everything, taken a lot more time than you did. I am more in the realm of electrical and computer engineering, more of what i learned in other realms are from This Old Tony and other awesome KZbinrs. I am surprised you don't even have 20k subscribers, the production quality is really top notch. Lovely British accent too. Looking for to see more content from you. Cheers from Canada.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I did a couple of calcs for this but nothing major. Just basic gear ratios to work out how fast it would spin and the PCD for doing the little sprocket. Nice to see that we have another This Old Tony fan in the comments. I think his channel is one of the benchmarks within the niche. I set myself a goal of 20K by xmass. Had some really good growth in the last month so i'm optimistic that the channel will get there. Thank you so much for the support and I'm glad you are enjoying the channel.

About the wiper motor . Ususally a car wiper motor will have 5 contacts . 3 of them are basicly switches that will allow the motor to complete it's cycle and always return to zero position , and when it is in zero to short the motor to make it stop and stay in it's home position . The other two contacts are 12V hi speed and 12V low speed . The body of the motor is ground or 0Volt . In the video I see you're connecting the 5 wire plug plug , but not the ground . Did you rewire your motor ? I did insulate mine from the chassis ground by desoldering the internal wiring , and I used a separate wire for 0Volt . That way , the welding current and the elctronics are insulated . One bad ground in the welding circuit , especially when initiating the arc , could very wel destroy the electronics . Pat
@FinnoUgricMachining4 жыл бұрын
Good job with the ground strip. Sping loading is essential as copper itself is not springy. Also, Your design makes the contact directly to the cast iron plate instead of the shaft which is somewhat isolated by the glue.
