I’m very sad that these are sold out and gone. Larry, this past year I discovered the series and have an incredible amount of respect for you and your absolute honesty with all you do. I hope all things in life bring you joy and/or an opportunity to learn and grow. You are a real inspiration/hero for simply being the man you are. Thanks man

Thank you very much for the nice comment, I appreciate it. This knife isn’t gone, and I didn’t know it was sold out. Did you contact Lt Wright Knives?
@tamadrummer0014 жыл бұрын
@@LarryRobertsbc I have not contacted them. I will do so. Save a bit and make this a big purchase. It’s an amazing piece of equipment that has all around usefulness. The “one “ Tool you really want next to your brain. Again, thanks for the inspiration and honesty you bring to this crazy world.

@@LarryRobertsbc just wanted to update my last response. It is available on the actual LT KNIVES website. Hopefully I will receive this knife for Father’s Day. Thanks for pointing me in the most obvious direction lol. Stay strong and happy man!

Loved the video! I have a Kabar Turok and a Globetrotter. I've only done two spoons, one from cedar and one from poplar. I really enjoyed watching how you carve your spoons! I'm a lefty too!

Larry, I do the same technique of making a temporary front handle too. It really makes carving the spoon safer, more comfortable and faster. I can't remember who showed me but that sort of thinking has been useful on other projects. That blade looks like it hits a sweet spot between the smaller 4" that's very prevalent, and big choppers. I believe the saying "in practiced hands, a big knife can do anything a small knife can do, but a small knife can not do everything a big knife can". Just a little shop tip, you can quickly clean off your ceramic stones using one of the white drafting type erasers. No water needed, and no residue left behind.

Never thought of the eraser, good idea.

Thanks Larry! Glad I took Jonathan’s (Bearded Burton) advice and went with the Gen6 because I absolutely love this knife! I rotate between this and my LTWK forest trail in Saber grind. Good job on making the blade longer. Take care Chief!

Great job on the spoon Larry . Quick question on the sharpening at the end . What was the white stone you use as your go to? Is that a ceramic stone by DMT ? My sharpening game needs help thanks
@LarryRobertsbc2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The white stone is a very fine ceramic sharpener. I can’t remember the brand name, but I’m pretty sure I got it from smoky mountain knife works.

I've seriously considered it. However, I have a ML Knives custom Kephart, which is, as you know, very similar. I'm trying to vary my knife purchases so not to have a lot of similar knives. And, I'm not as successful as I'd prefer...ha.

Nice. I shot some video making a spoon, but I never posted it. I wasn't happy how it came out. Thanks for the video

Nice! adding a handle to the front would help in carving. I'll have to try that. I plan on getting one of those Gen6's soon. Perfect length! Atb Sean

The handle helps me for sure. If/when you get a Gen 6 let me know what your thoughts are.

Good functional spoon. Amazing how you used a six-inch blade to do it. I like that pot hook on the end of it. I've carved a spoon. Unfortunately, I used a 2 by 4 as a blank. Due to the chemicals used in pressure treated lumber I think I ought to pass on using it. It was good practice and a fun project though.

Awesome job and video🙂👍🏻 I already bought your regular genesis before this came out. I love that knife. Maybe I will get the gen6 with some of my tax money🎉🎉🎉 Have you ever tried the Lagom bush knife that LT Wright makes for Lester River and Ben’s Backwoods? I always swap between the 2 every time I go out.

Thank you. I’ve never tried it, but I’ve held it several times. Seems like a great carver.

Nice video Larry, interesting method for doing a spoon. I've never left that handle on the opposite side while gouging out, seems efficient though! Had a question about whether you carry a small pocket knife along with the gen6? You strike me as an opinel kinda fellow! Keep up the good work man, love the content.
@LarryRobertsbc7 жыл бұрын
I always carry a pocket knife. I do like Opinel, but I carry a Bear and Sons Damascus Blade right now.

Say Heah Larry, Oh, Yeah, you did good. I recently got a Flexcut Carving Jack. That changed alot of my thinking, about just using a knife. My spoons look alot more crude than yours, maybe my woods have harder wood. But I also like a 2Knife System. I also like Choils. But you did good. That Gen. 6 looks like you two are friends. Thanks. I just go real slow and use my baton a lot. I feel I have more control when I do even for small cuts.
@onionhead57807 жыл бұрын
Lol. That’s funny because I want a genesis with a little bit shorter blade. Most of the shorter blades knives have a short handle. Me no like dat.
@LarryRobertsbc7 жыл бұрын
Take a look at the Next Gen, it’s smaller.
@joshbabb74707 жыл бұрын
I would of just cut a branch off of a live Aspen tree instead of chopping down a tree for a spoon. This is just my opinion. I like to only cut down live trees if the wood needs to be green for a project. Maybe it's just me. Thanks for the video. - Josh
