Alec, about the dog-tag....You can do better than just the tag!! You can make a modular collar out of leather, and make not just the tag and connecting rings out of metal, but the leather strap sockets that connect the collar! by adjusting the pins that connect the leather to those sockets, you can just cut and refinish a new length of leather for the wonderful little pup as they grow! Always a custom fit, like the finest suit for your beloved dog. As for the sapphires, I would really recommend 3 sapphires at most; 1 on each of the leather sockets (representing you and your wife) and one on the tag itself, incorporated into the embossed bone relief (to represent the wearer). It will be like you and your wife are providing support and comfort together for your pupper to have a good life, you know? Even if your puppy doesn't wear it all of the time, it's a wonderful "welcome to the family" gift for them! ^v^

nice job guys have you ever considered oil stabilizing the wood for your handles/scales? just get the wood submerged, in a container, in a vacuum chamber, and lower the pressure until all of the air trapped in the wood stops bubbling out, as it is replaced by oil. it will have a better feel to it, feel more solid, and has a wonderful texture to the hand when well finished. I think you will never go back once you try it

Muratic acid takes a long time when it's cold, works faster when warm, for the high/low. Muratic stinks and burns your nose too, try for 90F, Then the Ferric dip @ 1to4 water provides the color to the valleys. Neutralize well afterwards with bicarbinate, then wash with water and dawn to get the grey goo off. I keep 304/316 in the ferric a good 20 minutes or more. Probably 20 minutes in the muratic also unless it's July and 110F.

I really wanna see either a forged in fire challenge between Alec and will, and I want to see an American flag Damascus Bowie knife out of these two. Both would be absolute awesome series/builds

That intro did loads for me.... the whole “dirty british boy” bit, hearing you say the word “wife” (Congrats btw Alec & wife!!), hearing that classic rolled R again... and aluminum... I’m a happy fan 😁

i would recommend using tallow candle to mark with smoke not Dykem this is used in gun making to get precise fits between 2 pieces of metal this technique will always leave a precise mark when you want a vary tight fit
