While I am tempted to follow your advice and say I hated it, I can't. I loved it! Thank you so much for all these insights. The idea that the Indian fellow in the 21st century gets excited to be offered a role as regular human being shows we still need Star Trek to show us that people are people and identitarians are still crushing our relations in the world. Star Trek's world of everyone being so over that is truly a goal I hope we hit as soon as possible.

The cast were great. I really think they were on-board with the "mission" of the film. It shows.

I was quite curious about, and surprised by, the casting process as described herein... But, it makes a lot of sense to approach it that way. Especially with how superb the players cast, turned out to be.

Hey Bluesman! Thanks for watching. I'm a little intrigued by what surprised you about the casting. I'm glad you liked the results of course, but wonder what struck you about it? :-)

FPSD It hadn’t actually occurred to me before now, how beneficial social media applications like Skype, and by extension a platform like KZbin, can be in the audition process. From viewing a showreel, to having an actual interview. And how efficient that actually is, as you outlined it here. I still kind of picture actors and actresses standing around hallways, waiting to be called into another room with the director and producer, to give their auditions. Which is something they still do, of course. But, it was still a bit of a ‘eureka’ moment when you described that approach, lol.

@@sXeblues Ahh - gotcha. Yeah, as with all thing it comes down to money I guess. Hiring a space and having people keen enough to travel down to audition is obviously a bigger expense for both parties than the passive "internet tech" route. Only the big boys can afford to go old skool!

Found this video interesting. Casting is something that most people probably just don't think about.

This is almost similar to a Dr Who confidential!! Its great to see the ins and out of what goes into a production like yours. For me after watching your two shows there is a need to see more and these snippets do fill that gap. It would be interesting to see all these put together into one video eventually!! Looking forward to seeing more!! Methinks you have become a victim of your own success. Well done all!!!

Nice one - thank you! There will be a new one each Sunday for another few weeks at least - if you're not already subscribed then sign up so that you don't miss them :-) In terms of a full length version, if I understand KZbin properly, they are also being added to a "Holy Core" playlist so they canbe binged a bit more easily eventually.

Another cast member that knows VERY LITTLE about the military ranking structure. It takes years to go through Starfleet Academy and several more years to be promoted to Lieutenant, so yeah, an officer would have MANY years of training at their job. Officers move through jobs throughout a vessel about as much as they gains new rank level. Star Trek was based on today’s military-style format. Learn about rank structures before you try to convince anyone that you know about being an officer.
