My husband passed in January. I knew it would be easy to stay in my house and not “do” life. I decided in February I would do something special once a month. I’m also working at not doing alone so I invite friends to do with me. It isn’t always easy which I expected but I’m pushing through and am starting to look forward to my outings. It is helping me a lot. So I think your bucket list idea is good. I’m liking my planned once a month thing enough I think I will continue with it for a while. TFS

I am in Ontario, Canada and, you are right, the smoke is from us! Our Forest Fires have been aggressive. I have had to stay in for 2 days but, today, Thursday, the rain came down by the bucket loads and, cooled off the temps and, moved out the smoke! I am a new follower and, I love your simple lifestyle. I suffer from depression and am, always, looking to be away from the noise of life. After picking up three milkweed plants at the store, I soon realized I was a caterpillar mama to upcoming monarch butterflies! I just released the first butterfly today, with two chrysalis left to await new life! I am so excited to create a butterfly haven in the yard to host more of these babies. 🥰🦋🐛

We came back from vacation Tuesday, driving back from South Carolina. After 13 hours and two traffic jams, we started smelling the smoke crossing from Jersey to New York from the Turnpike. Well, it reached all the way on to Long Island. It was putrid yesterday and today we still have smoke settled in the air. Stay safe.

Yesterday morning when I woke up the sky was a yellowy brown - the way the band of smog used to look that hung over the sky in L.A. when I visited in 1998. But a stiff wind came and cleared it away. The lavender opening scene on your video this week was breathtaking! Such a gorgeous garden and it’s only early June! I’ve been consciously focusing this past year on really treasuring a simpler and more quiet life, being thankful for the smallest things, like the birds outside on our fire escape and really listening and seeing the nature around me when I’m walking. And the stillness. And a new lamp next to my chair so that I have plenty of light to read my books (I plan to read more this summer)I just volunteered at a soup kitchen ( I start tomorrow) and I want just to find myself more. Yes, just turned seventy and am still on the journey of self acceptance and inner joyful discovery. A trip to Maine ( it will be the first time) is planned for the end of the summer. The day to day sweet and simple things are the most precious. I do love the bucket list you made, and some of my mentions above I guess are the beginning of my bucket list. Kate...I absolutely love seeing you enjoy your yard, sweet Charlie, and working on your bucket list! I have to share how much joy growing calendula has brought to my life this year. I was purchasing calendula petals and using them in oil infusions that I put in my various skincare products (calendula hand cream, lavender & calendula salve, calendula soap, and rose & calendula face cream). Now I don't have to purchase the petals anymore, I am growing & drying my own, and I know exactly how they were grown. I am amazed how much joy seeing calendula's brightly colored petals in my garden brings. I am growing & harvesting chamomile now, some peas are producing peas to snack on as I'm working in the garden, and so many crops are in and flourishing in my little yard. I have chard, kale, all kinds of herbs, radish, peas, green beans, and winter squash (butternut) growing in so many spots here & there. I agree with you though...I need to balance all of that with getting out here & there and accomplishing some things on my own bucket list for summer 2023. Thank you for the idea...blessings ~ Sue

I literally make a bucket list every summer, actually going from April to October. Those are my travel/adventure months here in Arkansas when it isn't too cold or the holidays. I have it hung here on the wall at my desk by my calendar and I see it daily and it always inspires me to push forward, have fun, be wild and explore the world!!! ❤❤

I am in south Jersey just outside Philly, I spent hours outside working in my yard yesterday. Like you I noticed the smoky sky but did not know the danger. I stayed in all day today because I also had sinus trouble and was extremely tired all day, it was very hard to stay in doors because the weather was cool and breezy for this time of year.

Your bucket list has a lot of different activities. Hopefully, you will take us along on some of them. Ticks are no joke. When my niece was about 7, she had a tick we didn't discover right away. I hope it was removed correctly. She didn't get any of the diseases known in our area. Charlie! He was so startled when you sat next to him. It,s winter here in South East South Australia. Understand as you said the flowers ending I found it sad as nearly all the flowers are gone . I just had a 4 day holiday in a little tourist town in Victoria . There,s a big Mill Market cafe and lots of store holders bric a brac and antique .I bought this beautiful old tall coffee pot with flowers on it ,the handle of of the lid of the pot was broken ,so decided too use it for flowers . When I got home was amazed there was a few flowers out one was a beautiful mid pink rose . Felt blessed .

She is my companion and my confident. I need to make a summer bucket list like you. Because before you know it, it will be over. You probably already know this, but those purple flowers are called lunaria or silver pennies. They will form beautiful transculcent flat seeedpods that make a beautiful dried flower arrangement in the Fall.

Hi - I have wanted to respond to this post since I first watched it. First of all, I don't really know how I found your KZbin page, but so glad I did, as I really enjoy it. But this post.....Man-oh-Man!!!! It resonated with me so much! I always make "to-do" lists, whether they be weekly goals, seasonal goals or yearly goals. But my lists consist of work and projects and repairs and rebuilds and refurbish and re-do's....etc., etc. It never, ever dawned on me to write a list that might be about joyful things instead of just work and projects. After watching this, I woke up the next day thinking about making a summer bucket list that might be just about joyful things that enrich my soul. So...I did!!!! I will still do the "to do" list, but I am so excited about my summer bucket list. Thank you SO much.

Thank you for the bucket list idea. There are some things on your list that I'd love to do but won't be able to here in Cyprus. For instance being on a river, they dry up in the summer, so I'm going on a boat trip instead. One thing I'm definitely going to do and that is get an outdoor kitchen sorted as cooking inside the caravan in the summer is awful. I love your beautiful white dress and I wouldn't mind getting a twin tub like yours.

I want to read more, as well. I used to read all the time and would get so into a book that I would literally not hear the phone ring right next to me. I would also like to spend more time outside. We got the smoke here in Cincinnati yesterday and the day before but it seems a bit better today. We had the windows open the day before yesterday so I'm wondering if that's why I had a headache now that you mention that. Chad and I are planning to go on vacation to see the ocean probably in August. I can't wait!

Your videos are so beautiful and so relaxing and when you say you’re working on self esteem my heart hurts for you. I struggle with the same. You are so interesting, beautiful, intelligent, compassionate and you literally glow with this beautiful life force that’s contagious. Charlie is precious and seeing him makes me smile. I’ve been to the beach and Nashville so far, grilled out several times. I want to go to the beach at least once more, Marietta, Ga. Water parks and lakes, make homemade ice cream, peach cobbler, go to the local peach market that has the best pies , refinish some furniture. Thank you for making me think of what I could do this summer. I was sad earlier because meds, heart issues, mobility issues and autoimmune disorders make it harder for me now in our brutal southern heat but I’m going to find a way to have fun! xx♥️♥️♥️

I'm excited for this summer my sister and her family coming stay few weeks. I haven't seen her or her new baby in four years. We also will be taking a trip to Charleston south Carolina to see swamp and ocean. Will be our first time seeing the east cost ocean. Binge watching from beginning to end of you videos. So enjoying them! TICKS TERRIFY ME! I had 2 tick bites in 2013 in Kansas & suffered for several years w/Lyme & RMSF. There's no way I could walk outside (especially in tall grasses) in long dresses! Too much material for them to latch on to. Anyway I completely understand your fear.

I live about an hour from Toronto Ontario near the lake and we had to stay in for 2 days because of the bad air quality, It smells like you are having a campfire, and hazy. Your garden look amazing! And so beautiful! I have enjoyed working outside in all my small garden. My daughter and I are driving to Wenden, Arizona from N. Alabama. All my sisters are there, so we will have a good time visiting for a month. It will be a slow living and doing self care love. No husband to worry about. Just her, her Chiwinnie dog and me.
