@@Dzjiefoils 200g/m3 ??
@Dzjiefoils Жыл бұрын
No, the 200 stand for a compression rate. I don't know exactly what it means, but the higher the number, the harder it is to compress. Eps 200 is what they use to insulate floors. They pour concrete on top of it, so it has to be pretty strong.

@@DJahPersic 200 is 30kgm3 or 1.9 lb pcf. For a longboard I used type 250 which is 35kgm3 or 2.2. lb pcf. Quite strong but 200 should do fine as well. You can actually go lower if you use compsand constructions.

how's the carbon fiber stingers performance?
@Dzjiefoils3 ай бұрын
I like it a lot. Feels springy when you go up the wave face after a bottom turn. Because it twists when you are on rail and then want’s to bounce back.

@@Dzjiefoils thanks man. I'm shaping my first board just got my EPS blank so right smack in the start of production wanted to make it right. have you seen the latest vid from hayden shapes? the composite stringer is foam sandwiched with carbon fiber. was thinking if it would work on plywood.
@Dzjiefoils3 ай бұрын
@@ansborromeo7470 I heaven’t seen it, but I should have pattented my stringer design! Haha. If you do a ply, carbon combination make sure the ply is very thin. Else it will be way to stiff!

How did you build that hot wire?
@Dzjiefoils3 ай бұрын
I watched a youtube video on how to build one. But it’s basically just a few wooden pieces screwed together with a wire on a spring. Because the wire expands when it gets hot you have to take the slack out with a tensioned spring. The hard part is getting the right current trough the wire. I work at a high school so I lend a transformator thing from my science colleague.

I see, thank you

@@Dzjiefoils what setting do you use on the “transformer”? I make blanks also and not sure if I should set it higher or stay where I’m at
@DzjiefoilsАй бұрын
Sorry for my late response. I just fool around. When the wire gets red hot it's prone to snapping, so play around with your settings a bit.
