@@AquariumShed perfect I know it’s strict business for shrimp breeding so just want to make sure, I have my tank set up but just letting the algae and moss grow a little
@rgilroy19092 жыл бұрын
Great idea with the airlift tube. I've used perforated masonry brick (the ones w/ several small holes in the middle). By banking up the soil on the bottom level, you've essentially created an "under gravel shrimp box filer"(super popular in Asia). Using active substrate and slowly filtering water through it, will naturally adjusts the pH, O2 redox, and stabilizes Gh & Kh. Just make sure to replenish the seiryu stone as needed to maintain the Kh. Seiryu does have a lot of limestone in it and all those shrimp molts need calcium.
@AquariumShed2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the advice, I'll be sure to replenish the seiryu stone. Glad you like the filter design, I have been so impressed with it so far! What did you think of the spray bar idea?

@AquariumShed2 жыл бұрын
Hiya, glad you liked the Shrimple. It's still going strong and has definitely created a great breeding environment. The tank is a Dennerle 55l Scapers tank which is 45 x 36 x 34 cm. But you could make this work in any size tank by adjusting the size of the pipes you use! Good luck with your tank! 👍

Love that you are clearly having fun with the hobby and following your imagination. Thanks for sharing, it's great fun to watch. Thinking about getting shrimp for the first time myself. I don't expect so much breeding as this, but my question is, what on earth do you do with all the shrimp you produce?
@AquariumShed2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, really appreciate the feedback and pleased you enjoyed the video. Fortunately I have lots of other Nano tanks with fish that are well suited to living with Shrimp, so they are getting distributed throughout the tanks as clean up crew. Plus my friend who gave me the Blue Dream Shrimp is now taking Red Cherry Shrimp off my hands!

this is so cool! i think it’s impossible to avoid moss overgrowth in a tank this size but it still turned out great. subscribing in hopes that you’ll do a way larger version of this someday. and if you do a larger version check out some granite shower tiles, i used some on a paludarium i made to make parts look like castle components and it works great
