Making a VASTLY SUPERIOR axial engine in besiege

This time I demonstrate the creation of a six piston axial engine design in besiege, which is much better than any inline, V, VR or W designs you may find elsewhere. You could technically say that this is in response to Reid Captain's W16 engine video, so: I have nothing against him, just wanted to poke a bit of fun at him for being new to the game and share some of the techniques I use so that maybe people can learn from me. Also I didn't see this type of engine on youtube yet, so I hope to be the first.

I built a pillow fort to improve the audio quality. It didn't help, but it was fun.

A very compact design! Also, I found that by increasing the internal turning hinge to a max of 40 degrees instead of 20 degrees increases torque by about 2x.

PS: would making the engine "fram" more rigide by attaching both sides of the hexagons to each other increase performance? it seems to bend quite a lot also it seems pretty slow, could it be made to go faster using shorter angles? (I"m assuming it's slow because the pistons wait too long to do the opposite movement, making the whole contraction/retraction cycle longer and therefore the rotation speed smaller)

In this design, having the frame bend was intentional, it was to prevent the pistons from compressing more than they should, but I honestly have no idea if it helps or hurts the performance. The one on the car in the competition video is rigid, and it doesn't seem to cause problems, so the bendiness is probably unnecessary. Using shorter angles should theoretically increase the speed, but also decrease the power

How powerful is this engine? Using conventional wheels, I've made one able to climb a 30 degree slope and reach a speed of 24.

I don't understand, why use steering blocks for offset when you can just use the rotate tool?

Good question, by building everything straight in the beginning, I can be sure everything is connected, so when I use the steering block to offset it, everything follows the things it's connected to, to bend and stretch into place. If I were to offset the crank manually, I would have to offset everything else manually too, which would mean using a bunch of undesirable math. Also rotating the crank changes it's distance from the pistons, and since pistons only connect to the thing they are right on top of, some of them would need to be half extended, which you can't do. This video is a reaction to Reid Captain's W piston engine video, if you watch it you will see how he has to put everything at odd angles and use two pistons per cylinder so he can make the first start out with both retracted, third both extended, and the other two one retracted and one extended, which I want to avoid.

It's one of the "God powers". You can find them in the at the bottom of the settings tray you access via the little cogwheel icon in the top right corner

Could you make an engine with the spark plug mod? I've made one, but am new to the game and don't know all the weird physics of the in game pieces or all the useful mods. My engine runs pretty decently, but was looking to create something more efficient. Mainly more efficient in the firing times, so that it fires just after top dead center for more power, not directly at TDC
