For hooves strange, you should absoloutely look into the hoof boots pony play kinksters wear! They're basically heeless boots that emulate digitargrade legs and finish in platform hooves. They're not as cruel to your ankles as ballet boots though they still require a bit of experience before you can walk in them comfortably, they are probably the best option you could go with, especially if you don't mind adding more eccentric boots to your collection The kink element would prolly also make them baphomet approved too

17:45 - As a fellow downtown Torontonian, an old-ass cosplayer, and art school weirdo, I can guarantee that you're allowed to prance around like this ANY TIME YOU WANT. Don't wait for Halloween to let your freak flag fly. In my 20+ years of dressing in the craziest con attire, travelling on the TTC from the Scarborough boonies to downtown T.O., I've only been hassled ONCE. Don't let dumbasses keep you from being Baphomet every goddamn day it you want to! 💜

Not from Toronto (and as an American, I can't afford college 😢), but 100% this. I have gone out in low-effort steam punk and peasant-core looks on many occasions, and you would be surprised by the number of people who get excited seeing The One Who Stopped Giving A Damn strolling about. The rare time people do stop and ask if I'm going to an event, I say, "Nah, I just dress like this," and you'd be surprised the number of approving nods I've received. That said, tooooooootally used today as an excuse to really really dress up and flaunt the witch hat I made. Gotta save those extra special looks for extra special days.

@@animekittykittyI used to be a little emo/scene kid in middle school and high school. I loved it so much. I actually got a decent amount of positive attention for it, especially from older ladies who said they wish they would have dyed their hair wild colors when they were young. Obsessed with Teya using a scrunchie as an accessory while having a pixie cut. Also, I absolutely agree with "I want to wear sexy things for the aesthetic but I don't want people to perceive me as being sexually available". this year i left myself literally 3 hours to come up with a costume, and my mom suggested Weird Barbie, so I speedran to the store and bought a pink dress, pink tights and green leggings (to chop the top off and pull over a pair of thigh high boots I already had) splattered it with “washable” crayola paint and arrived at the function a little bit wet and painty. it was a huge hit. highly recommend throwing your costume together at the last minute with real clothes and crafty instincts ALSO (!) I totally agree that sex gear is fashion and you should keep blurring the lines between the two. don’t let anyone tell you you can’t. go to the rennaissance faire and tell me again why you shouldn’t wear sex gear totally innocently in public

While this IS usually true, I find it's weirdly less true when it comes to cosplay. But then, I started cosplaying before worbla was widely available. There's definitely some new techniques and materials that got popular that are way tf easier, better to use and/or more widely available now then some of the old shit we did. (and fuck knows I remember some weird and/or low key dangerous shit we did as a community to achieve a look™ for that matter. >.>)

This turned out amazing! As someone who has taken theater makeup courses and worked at the theater for multiple years, latex and scar wax both suck, and feel gross, and make your skin feel gross (let alone the fact that I was allergic to latex which made the process all the more fun, as it were. Lol). I think for a first attempt your creations looked absolutely fabulous! I would say perhaps carve it a bit more than slice it next time to allow more room for depth, and do a base of latex friendly paint overtop of your final creation to add some more color dynamic to your seeping wounds - I would recommend some dark reds and possibly some browns to give it a more realistic gaping wound sort of coloration. Then that way when the blood is overtop, it looks more like an actual gaping wound rather than a plaster you painted some blood into (the way my boss described it, it's not just the blood you're seeing when you see a cut - you're also seeing the broken flesh and, depending on the depth, the muscle and tissue underneath, and sometimes even shadowing for what is too deep for you to see. So adding more depth than just the blood makes it more visually compelling and, in turn, more realistic).

Idk if you'll ever see this but in the future if you want to try something like this, I highly suggest something called Rigid Collodion. It basically puckers your skin to make really realistic scars, and it's used a lot in theater and cosplay. It does crack if it's put in an area with a lot of movement (i made a scar over my eye/eyebrow and the eyebrow cracked a bit) so you may have to re-apply, but it's super easy. You can add concealer and eyeshadow to add depth to make it more realistic as well.

I mean you're right about it being wholesome Christian. That's still a Christian pentagram while it is in the circle. Turning it upside down just represents the Holy Spirit returning to earth. So if anyone is interested, it is actually quite easy to make a harness yourself. I made one using inner bicycle tires. They are strechy, easy to cut with cissors and puncture with an awl, and surprisingly comfortable. So i just made a drawing of my design, bought a shit ton of metal rings, nuts and bolts (the shortest ones they had, with a flat head so that it could sit against my skin) cut out the pieces measuring them on my body, and screwed everything together. Took me about an hour in total with some help from friends. Highly recommend doing this if you're on a budget, you can just get old tires from a bike repair shop

This year for Halloween I was a nun with stigmata and while I was searching for ideas I encountered a community of mcr fans that have an ongoing fanfic (i guess) about the band members as a religious people with stigmas and I think that's super cool

Franky Teardrop over the footage of your fucked up brush was so choice. Also, I learned whittling for two small props for my high-concept zombie costume this year, so I feel very seen by your last-minute learning of new handycrafts.

depending on how big you want to make the hooves and what style, you could follow a fursuit hoof tutorial to make them. pretty sure there's at least a couple youtube ones. you'd be working a lot with upholstery foam though so keep that in mind

my halloween costumes the past few years since moving out of my hyper-religious parents' home have really been lacking and not satanic enough but this has completely inspired me to be baphomet for halloween next year and thrift a bunch of cool things for my costume. seems perfect for me: queer icon, gender vague, demonic but not so crazy a costume that it requires a lot of skill or money or gets me super overheated here in the desert, and also goth and fashionable. sexy but not TOO sexy, still creepy and covers enough that I feel comfortable. thank u strange

Blarrrrgh, I wasn't too into the goth aesthetic (mostly because I couldn't pull it off) but you mentioned tripp pants and it reminds me that I had a really nice slim tripp trench coat that I loved to death, and it got stolen from the public laundry of the apartment building I was at and it's no longer available. I had that coat for like a decade, the only article of clothing that I cared enough about to learn to patch and hem. ;_;

I feel the exact same about harnesses. I just think they look neat, but I'm reminded that they're more of a kink (?) thing any time I look up references so i can draw them onto characters.

Strange has acquired the skills to make The Lamb. Which would ALSO require hooves.
