Making a Wind on Leader

I've ben makeing windons for over 20 years my insertion of the floro or mono in now only 16'' into the spectra and my serve is with colored c thread that is used for wraping guides on a fishing rod and finished the same way the c thread is nylon and can be put on very tight , never had one slip , i use colored thread to color code what weigth line is used, also don't forget to glue the thread, super glue thick style woths just great Joe A

The question is why make a loop-to-loop wind-on leader when they have already shown you how to splice the hollow braid with the flurocarbon leader in an earlier video ? The fact is even as secure as a wind-on leader connection is, there will be potential weaknesses with the Bimini Twist or Spider Hitch you tie with the double line at the end of the mainline. Bottom line, the splice will always be stronger.

Would this make a good way to make a planer bridal? Seems like it would work great... maybe a simple overhand knot to hold it sure.

How does this compare to modified Albright? Seems much easier and never had one fail.
