Thank you for this to the point tutorial. By watching your video quite a few times and taking your advise I put a great sounding KZ APTX-HD bluetooth cable on my KSC75's. I had to solder the tips of the bluetooth cable from which I cut off the connectors by setting the solder iron to 450 degrees Celsius (yes the metric system is for developed countries only ) and burning the fibers and insulaton lacquer off by dragging the cable ends trough solder paste and adding solder to the solder iron.. thanks

Etika would've loved this, the ksc75 were his go-to headphones.

I (sort of) did the same but instead of soldering the bluetooth cable I soldered a slightly softer 3.5mm cable shortened to about 40cm and I use them connected to a Shanling UP4. Pros: No weight on my ears from the bluetooth cable control/battery, highest bluetooth audio quality and longer battery, besides being able to use a regular audio extension cable to use them wired. Cons: The UP4 is certainly bulkier than these bluetooth cables taken from headphones.

I modded with mmcx connectors and wonder, how to make them true wireless...perhaps with microphone and the typical functions of todays earbuds. I only have the first version of the fiio bt(1?) modules, but they are dangling around on the outside. I figure that a cable like yours around the neck makes possibly most sense. My problem is, that its loud enough but could use some more power to really be there. So how about volume and does anyone know a powerful bt adapter cable with all functionality for smartphone usage? Any suggestions? Shouldnt cost the world either. The fiio btsw5 or even 7 now reach prices beyond reasonable for such a set up. I want an open headphone like this. I dont like voice cancellation or feeling muffled by an in ear...and the kph40 and ksc sound miles better than most earbuds anyway.

I feel like this would be more complicated with the MMCX mod instead. I find the small components difficult to manage!

i messed up... hah too long using the solder and now my kcs75 is dead
@TechRodent3 жыл бұрын
Oh no... Yes, you want to be very careful of how long you heat the drivers, the best is to do it really quickly, within 1-2 seconds

@@TechRodent yes unfortunately i "got" your warning after i re-watched the video, i was too excited to replicate your work.

your are the guy like me. 3 years ago, i bought qcy qy19 and realized couldnt get any treble because of its shıtty as fuck drivers. i put batteries and buttons in a cheap mp3 player box and soldered nokia bh-214 drivers in it which is generic sennheiser cx300 as you can see here: www.amazon.com.tr/Nokia-Bluetooth-Headset-Variante-6438158218383/dp/B003IEEEX4 and i achieved incredible clarity with apt-x . But i switched to iphone and holy crap QCY dont support AAC and sounds like shit on iphone with shitty SBC. So i bought sony wi-c200 and happy with it for now but AAC allways have that weird very mild distortion on some trebles.
