I like the blood on the handle. I usually leave blood on a metal project at least half the time it seems
@johnjude26855 жыл бұрын
Seems like you made it look easier than most Blacksmit Like the way you insert the full tool steel not just a slim insert as most. Great design and craftmanshp Thanks for sharing

I give you high marks for crafting such a fine Hawk my friend! My son does this type of work as a hobby and I dabble a wee bit myself.... You have a talent in working with your hands, God given, so don't ever take it for granted. Keep doing what you do, a man that makes tools gains a kind of peace of mind that cannot be found elsewhere....

This video is hugely important. It shows that 1860s and before were making axes, hatchet, and potentially knives all wrong. Thinner sheets of metal would have cost less than thicker ones! Brilliant young production.

Nicely made - I hope I'm able to find the time to do something like this in the future. Also, wanted to say a big thank you - I have a tomahawk I've been wanting to get a longer handle on than what came with it, and I never thought to use the wrong end of a straight handle meant for a larger axe before.

Nice. From watching other blade smiths instead of doing such a large piece of tool steel forge weld the body of the ax the split the face and insert a small piece into the face reducing the chances for inclusions and shunts. If you haven’t check out Northman’s guild and Autine tools. Master smiths for sure.
