I think it's dangerous to wrap the sandpaper over the ball if it is a long strip but not if short one. I love the simple but elegant workings of ball joints.

Absolutely awesome I have to make me a ball turner first but will be making one maybe 2 of these . I only have 1in 2 in and 3 in micrometer so will this size accommodate all 3 ?

Hi Yes, you can make one so it will accept all the micrometres. I will show how I make the block clamp soon. Also, I can make the brass 30mm ball up and put one on eBay for people who do not have a ball turning fixture? Regards Steve
