Its definitely your camera 📷 Overexposure is the result of too much light hitting the film or, in a digital camera, the sensor. Overexposed photos are too bright, have very little detail in their highlights, and appear washed out. There must be a setting not right try default the camera settings.. love the videos very entertaining

Tim, professional videographer here, make sure your project timeline is interpreted in Rec. 709 instead of Rec. 2100, then make sure all the footage you import into the project is interpreted as Rec. 709, that way when you render the mp4 in h.264 the colors and brightness don’t change. Telltale that this is what’s happening is the end video doesn’t look the same as it does in the editing program. Rec. 2100 is the default interpretation for h.265/hdr footage, so by interpreting footage as Rec. 709 you’re forcing the program to see it how it should (when the project and the clips are interpreted different it looks like this…)

I was thinking it might be a HDR-related issue. You seem to know what's going on. Does this mean that KZbin doesn't handle HDR very well? I mean, is there no option to encode in h.265 when uploading to YT?
@MrPougatch
@MrPougatch Жыл бұрын
@@Arexodius It seems like youtube is currently considering any video files encoded in an HDR-compatible format as actual HDR, no matter what the actual color range of the video is. So then their player decodes this video as if it's HDR, effectively increasing contrast ratios.
@billallbright

Tim, here is what is happening with your camera. You notice the dash is exposed properly when you are pointing at the interior, but when the camera is looking outside, the exposure is dominated by the amount of darker surfaces in the cab. This leaves the outside brightness overexposed due to the light meter being overly influenced by the darker interior. You could put the camera on the dash and all the outside would be exposed more accurately. There might be also a setting which would let you choose the angle of view that the camera monitors. I hope this is correct and helpful to you. Not criticizing at all.
@maxxamo_tnt
@maxxamo_tnt Жыл бұрын
I also thought it was the HDR and KZbin compression that making it funky. I did notice that he do have the HDR on but I could be wrong. Also he need a ND filter it will solve 70% of the brightness.

Also depends on what setting the meter is set for. Not sure what Sony language but canon it’s evaluative where the light meter takes the average of the whole area of the scene. I’m no video guy I’m a stills shooter but the light meter and exposure work the same. Have you tried an ND filter or even a polarizing filter as that will give you a stop to a stop and a half of exposure.

Camera is focusing on the interior of the cab and adjusting light accordingly…which blows out anything outside. The only way to fix it is adjusting in manual mode to a happy medium where the outside and inside light are acceptable light. There’s almost no way auto can adjust both. Maaaaybe try dialing in the focus to a wider range. I always had mine set in on wide range but I had to constantly adjust the exposure even on wide focus.

Sensor on the fancy camera is so much bigger and lets in so much more light than say a cell phone but on the flip side they are not as user friendly as a cell phone or an action camera. It takes practice and experimenting with settings to get it dialed in, I watched HOURS of KZbin videos to get my settings dialed in even remotely close. You’ll get there, keep up the cool video content! 🤘

Another great video and glad to see that you and Steve made it home safe . I bet that was a tiring trip watching out for everybody else and paying attention to what is going on around you so closely because of the boat being so big . So many people are in such a big hurry anymore, it's go, go, go and they don't think about putting something in a danger for someone else . The way that I see it anymore is slow down and enjoy life a little . Tell Steve, that I think him for his service to our country for so many years, my dad was a World War 2 veteran and went through a lot during his time overseas. He took the route through North Africa and Italy and on that way fighting with the Germans . I will see you all later so take care and stay safe and keep on trucking . 🤗👍💖💫

Folks are right. A camera on the bow and one UNDER the "roll bar" of the boat would provide some nice footage! I was wondering if that boat was too large to wrap? (Then it is the responsibility of the boat yard to remove the stuff from the roll bar. You'd have to cut a hole where the cleat is, to attach straps, but the wrap under the towel provides more protection.

Tim, part of the best of this video is listening to you guys talking... specially the parts where Steve was reminiscing about the service, I too served in the army.. 66 to late 69 in guess where. As a young man home, not many wanted to hire us but they did hire a lot of "refugees" they hauled home. We just got honorable considerations but no hire. I did drive but it was my own rigs and they just were not as pretty or fast.... my money was so tight that fuel made the list first and me eat later. If someone was late paying then it got pretty miserable. Nice road curtisee an yet real asshole in the same lanes an times... crazy. That white truck, think it was a pete looked right sweet an had some real power under its bonnet so its not so crazy after all to have the rig run with the best now days. Seen the J.B. Hunt rig traveling way faster than what I remember their old fuel squeezers did in the seventies... even the Swift truck looked able to keep up... those used to be a horrible rig to have to ever drive. I never drove for them but did drive for McCormick who made boats in two pieces an they welded them together in alaska. Half the boat was the trailer it was hauled with on a cab over single screw mack. I made two trips to fairbanks an quit... my guts still bounce as we dead headed home. Think they only had like a hundred fifty horse power an that might be more than the one I drove that barely held together, miserable cold or burning hot as they didn't have ac or decent heaters.

Good Video Tim, I remember Atlanta Olympics, had to deliver a load and man that was some craziness, with traffic and construction and detours. Then a time limit for going into downtown Atlanta as certain times early 2 AM until like 10 AM and if you didn't get out of downtown. You had to wait until late after 5 PM to reopen truck routes to leave. Other wise you get a ticket with a heavy fine and would be police escorted to a truck stop. Which I was used to with downtown Chicago cold storage as traffic sucks after 11 AM. Just in a traffic jam. So I usually just stay over and leave at 5PM. And start my run to the East coast.

Listen to 30 year old Tim talk about how good of a driver he is & has done it all, and then go listen to a Bob Spooner interview who has been driving for 50 plus years and how humble he is and learns something new all the time

@@Gentryandsons dude don't explain yourself. There's nothing wrong with being a ALPHA male. Beta males usually have a big problem with someone being confident.

@@blueonblack3971 big difference between Alpha male & Arrogant asshole! If you let Tim tell it, he’s built a fleet of 500 trucks in 10 years & he drives 499 of them everyday! The man can do it all…if you don’t believe me, just ask him!

Tim, you gotta start pullin' the air horns at these people!!! That Atlanta was segment was insane (just like you said it would be)!

if you think Atlanta is bad, get a load out to Houston where I live and you'll think Atlanta drivers are tame little children after you try to navigate The Gulf Freeway (I 45) down to Galveston. Riding with you is really fun because today I learned something about the people you work with having very interesting backstories about them.

Tim when looking out the window it's nothing but a big old Glare if you look at the dash board it's clear you might look to see if there's a setting for sun light to dim the lens just like on these knew cell phones when videoing or taking a picture where there's a glare there's a setting on the phone of the picture and video side that will get rid of your video problem, if what your using doesn't have that you need to invest in one that does
