We're taking our Franna crane project to the next level and it's about to get intense! This time, we're stripping this beast down to its bare bones. Say goodbye to worn-out hydraulic hoses, tangled wiring, and malfunctioning fixtures - they're all getting removed! But we're not stopping there…we're splitting our crane in half! Yep, you heard right. We're tackling the daunting task of removing the center pins, a challenge that involves heat, brute force, and a whole lot of patience. Watch as we build a custom support system, battle stubborn bolts, and finally witness the satisfying moment when the crane is divided. This video is a mix of mechanical mayhem and problem-solving brilliance that you won't want to miss!

Kurtis I walk by a bunch of Lathes everyday after I clock in. Now I know what the various parts and levers do because YOU taught us. I’d venture to say I could get one spinning and doing a simple OD turn down based on your visual teachings. Even thought of buying a bench mini lathe to turn down things I dont’ need to build!! Just because of you!!! Instead I’ll just probably watch and keep learning. Thank you for your skilled craftsmanship and your excellent partner and wife that edits it.

If a customer ever wants to know what was done on a project, and whether the correct pieces and parts were put inside of a hydraulic barrel or something else normally hidden from view, these videos would be an excellent way to make it clear.

Centralized Greasing Port: The Good: Convenient location for you to grease your required lubrication locations all in one spot. Makes sure the operator greases all the joints. The Bad: Uses a lot of grease to fill up the tubes to get to the grease points, still requires inspection to ensure that the right amount goes into the joint. The Ugly: Over time the tubes can dry rot and erupt in grease everywhere. Take away: know your machine! and I am confident that Kurtis knows that machine especially after taking the whole thing apart!

Need to do a fancy custom paint scheme on it to make it stand out. I despises the plastic hose supports, they tend to wear thro the hose. I agree on the greasing system a few hoses for hard to acess and thats it,grease is better done by hand since long hoses do clog up.

When I saw the 9/16 socket at the start, I was reminded of how virtually all of the bolts on my early model Chevy's were that size and I could basically disassemble the entire engine with one wrench! (not the head bolts and mains) As Kurtis was wrenching the lines on the grease block I thought "perfect job for am angle grinder" and was happy to see shortly after using one! And finally a climatic end where the last pin sees things our way in time to take in a beautiful sunset! Time for a coldie! 🍺🍺 Thanks again and have a great weekend!

I must say, as a field service guy, watching you fix and cure all the ills that this crane has makes all my everything happy 😊. I would interject though, save the hose wraps and keep the greasing system. Emphasis on the hose anti chafe wrap, at least here in the states the popular sizes have been. Unobtainable since covid, and if you can find stock 🤑🤑🤑. Thanks for the video guys🫂

I have every confidence in your ability to put this back together Kurtis better than it was new. Got to say you are a bold man and guess you have access to hydraulic and electric / air schematics as this thing is a plumbers nightmare . Not to mention the ropes and lines in the boom sections . I look forward to every video of yours and especially this Franna restore . Great camera work Karen . Its strange one would think its would be boring just tearing down an old crane but for some reason you too make every video interesting and love the dog and the birds awesome keep em coming please

Wow! That was a real rip and tear fest!!! Almost down to the sub atomic particle stage! I am confident you can rebuild it but I have no idea how you will do it...... I found one in the news paper, 125 miles away, I took my 110 Kodak camera and 8 rolls of film and 25 flash cube's. Took pictures of everything under the hood and behind the dash and under the frame!! That repair STILL took me 3 weeks to repair! with the videos Karen took of the tear down of the crane YOU WILL DO GREAT,! THE CEE WAY!
