Juniper berry essential oil has a clean and refreshing scent. The swirling technique is that same that was used for the latest version of Lemon Lime Sublime. The scent inspired cool colors, thus, the use of greens and blues and a touch of purple. I hope you also enjoy the color tutorial.

Those swirls came out really well defined and fine like granite. I don't know if it's my computer but the teal seems to have manifested into a turquoise which is nice as well. It's too bad computers weren't interactive so as to produce fragrances! Good job Clyde. Now back to the vacuuming - i need a housekeeper so I can do more soaping.

Can you feel the aloe vera in the dryed soap and how does it change the regular batter,very interesting beautiful soap
@vibranttravelswithClyde
@vibranttravelswithClyde 6 жыл бұрын
It's not an extreme difference. This is something that might be felt though time, but truthfully the amounts used in most soap recipes would be very subtle at best. Some feel aloe to be drying on the skin. Thanks for the question.

Have you tried a soap recipe with a higher percentage of olive oil? Maybe that will keep it thinner. I tried to respond to your comment in the Ginger Lime Sublime II video, but I couldn't find it. Thanks for your comments!

What kind of colorants do you use and where do you get them? Also how do you match them so well to your water colors?
@vibranttravelswithClyde
@vibranttravelswithClyde 9 жыл бұрын
+Tracy Evans I get most of my colorants from TKB Trading and Nurture Soap Supplies. In addition to making soap, I'm also a painter. I was an art major and had lots of practice looking at various subject matter and trying to match the colors in my paints. If you watch the color tutorial, you'll see that I often allude to complementary colors. They're the colors opposite each other on the color wheel. If a color seems too bright, I bit of the complementary color can tone it down. The use of black or white can also be used to help you match a color. There's much more to color theory than that and there are books devoted to the subject. It is much too complex for me to explain, but the information I speak of above can help get you to a good start. Thanks so much for your question.

essencerose3 is right. your videos do stand out from the rest. your soap is so glossy when you cut it and it looks so creamy. I'd love to know how you achieve that. I do believe I am going to order a bar of that soap. being a fairly new soapers myself I am still experimenting with recipes and have concocted a couple great ones. I've got a stack of so so recipes just to get a couple good ones. I've been selling soaps for about 3 months and so far people love my soap. I still have alot to learn and love all of it. your videos help so much plus it's fun to watch them.

Patti, that means a lot to me. I'm glad you find the videos useful. I know that I get a glass-like cut when I use a flat knife to cut the soaps. Also, a bit of sodium lactate has worked very well for me to get a harder bar of soap. Thank you for commenting.

Hi Clyde. Got any tips on how to cut 'Straight'? lol. You always cut so precisely, it amazes me. Beautiful soap as always. I look forward to all of your videos. You are a true artist & teacher.
@vibranttravelswithClyde

One of my tips is to use a low table so you can look straight down on you knife as you cut. That way you can keep the blade perpendicular to the table as you cut and also see if the thickness is even before you push down on the knife. Hope that helps.
@apsaraa4197
@apsaraa4197 10 жыл бұрын
Thank You so much! It makes perfect sense. Easy to visualise your explanation. I need to get a small table just for cutting. It will need to be looked for, as I am only 4'11" so everything is high for me but, I can remedy this by finding a 'my size' cutting table. So its be..LOL :)
