I thought you were supposed to put the lid on while its hot so it vaccum seals it once its cool

Brine: - Equal parts water and distilled white vinegar: I did 2/3 cup of each (my jar is small). I topped the jar with a little extra water to cover all the cucumbers - 2 tsp salt - Drizzle of honey Added directly to jar: - cucumbers - black peppercorns - yellow mustard seeds - crushed red pepper - 5 cloves garlic, smashed - dill - bay leaf
