Every time I add a chord progression to Piano Roll in FL Studio, it overwrites the previous chord progression. I obviously want to add a new chord progression for each measure. Any idea why this is happening. I've had nothing but headaches learning FL Studio, much of which has to do with my computer. Apparently, a Ryzen 5 processor and 32GB of RAM is just not enough. So, I am pointing out two separate issues.

wasup! So you wont be able to drag and drop multiple midis on one layer. The only way you can do it is by copy the midi from another layer and then pasting it in. Also your computer seems to have plenty of power to run fl studio btw.

guys i got a problem! When i try to insert a second midi chord in the same pattern on the same "instrument", fl replace the first midi chord with the 2nd. Any ideas how can i fix it. Thank you very much.

Wasup Alexis , unfortunately you cant drag and drop 2 midis onto the same channel . It will only replace it . One work around is to make two channels , paste the midis into the each separate channel , than from there you can copy and paste the midi to one channel .

Well, the theory behind this MIDI pack is so simple, I can teach it (and a bit more) in 1-2 hours on a sheet of A4 paper. No prior music knowledge required and almost no "big words" to remember. 27$ for a MIDI pack that teaches absolutely nothing is just a waste of money. Unless of course you're fine with sounding like everybody else who bought it.

There is a way to add them all on one track but you’ll have to copy and paste them… it’s a little hard to explain. My advice would be to just paste each midi patter on its own track. You can then just have them play simultaneously on your playlist.

to be honest i feel much easier with someone who is down to earth and polite and humble with going thru this music software video. i think too many tutorials on the tube and the likes are ott technical and borderline arrogant assuming that everyone watching has extensive knowledge of the entire music production process and for me I'm just starting out trying to fathom out the whole concept. don't put yourself down, it's a fab video so many thanks and have a great weekend

Not only that, he is _paying_ for a vastly inferior product. There are literally hundreds of VSTs that can create chords and progressions for you. Most DAWs have this built in. There are objectively superior chord packs out there for free, instead of paying two full movie tickets for 1c worth of fucking data.

I don't see anything wrong with using this Chord pack They Give you the puzzle pieces and you build the melody for your song. I don't see anything wrong with that. @@straytherat2311 Yes because it doesn't give you the puzzle pieces, it gives you pre-completed chunks except that doesn't describe it either, they're more like pre-composed sections of a painting, meaning also that you can't design that painting with your own unique ideas

Why you need a „guide line“, chords are meant to express a kind of mood or vibe, you just gone decide that based on some guide line? That being said, if you already know you happen to wanna use the exact chords in this pack then it’s no sin to have them prepared through the pack, but that’s obviously not what the guy in the video used them for when he said the sentence I was referring to

While I don't think this chord pack is for me, I appreciate the review. I look at scores composed by Bach, Beethoven, James Horner, John Williams, etc. Especially in the world of film-scoring, the chords can be pretty incredible. For example, Bernard Herrmann used the "Tristan Chord" a half-diminished 7th, to draw influence for his score to "Vertigo." The Tristan chord, written by Wagner, is very effective because of the VOICING. We have a jarring augmented 4th in the lower voices, stacked against a perfect 4th in the upper voice. This creates a unique sounds that can lead to ANYWHERE. The audience cannot predict where it can land, so it becomes quite unsettling. In fact, if you want to build quite a bit of tension, and unsettled conclusions, think about "mediant relationships" All this means is that the two chords are always a third apart. This can lead to some crazy modulations! Anyway, best of luck to all music producers, composers, musicians, artists.

I got it and made pretty sick beat first night. I have music theory knowledge but it's all beginner to intermediate type of deal. So I may look at a chord progression like CEG I'm thinking basic major chords, but there are so many different chords, augmentation, voicings, that I'm missing out on good sounding chords within that progression.

You wanna know what it takes to make this crap obsolete? For simplicity let's take the A natural minor scale: A-B-C-D-E-F-G The simplest chords are made up of three notes: the 1st ("root note"), the 3rd and the 5th. We simply look at the scale and count: 1st = A, 3rd = C, 5th = E ... and just like that, we have an A chord: A C E Let's do E next: 1 = E, 3 = G, wrap around, 5 = B .... E G B ... simple as that HOWEVER, we don't need to count the 5th, because it will (with very few exceptions) ALWAYS be 7 semitones above the root note. Let's demonstrate this with B: 1 = B, 3 = D, 5 = G ... B D F but F is only 6 semitones above B, so we take F# instead: B D F# It doesn't matter if F# isn't part of our scale. It will ALWAYS harmonize with the root note. "What about the higher degree chords?" I hear you asking. Well, let's try it with a D7 chord: 1 = D, 3 = F, 5 = A, 7 = C .... D F A C Or how about D9: 1 = D, 3 = F, 5 = A, 9 = E .... D F A E See how easy that is? "Ok, but what's the difference between minor and major chords?" Simple: the distance between the 1st and the 3rd. A C E .... A + *3* semitones gives us C. This is a minor chord (Am) C E G .... C + *4* semitones gives us E. This is a major chord (CM) small gap = minor (_m) BIG GAP = MAJOR (_M) The same principles apply to other minor scales or the major scale, so you're not bound to the natural minor. Congratulations, you now know everything to get started with chords, have something to practice and can expand on that knowledge.
